Just wondering...I just heard that Disney is going to be stopping the no expire option. :worried:

Is this true? And if so, does that leave the only option for DVCer's who go more than once each year the annual pass option? My DH comes on one to two trips a year, and sometimes uses a total of 7 days per year, usually less, therefore he buys the 10 day no expire pass and gets about 2 years out of it.

I go for long weekends 3 to 4 times a year so I purchase the AP. So for my husband will the only option be to either buy the AP (a waste for any less than 8 days), or buying tickets for each and every trip?:scared1::eek::scared1:

Being that so much of our vacation dollars already go to Disney, I don't like the thought of losing a more cost effective option on tickets for those in my family that can't get there as much as I do.

It doesn't appear to be true. They *have* removed the no-expire option from the web site and the ticket booth "menu boards", but they will still sell it to you---at least, for now. Undercover Tourist is still stocking them, as well, if you want to just buy one or two now to hedge your bets.

There's a lot of speculation that Disney will dump the no-expire option once the MagicBands and the rest of the NextGen project finally rolls out. I'm not sure they will, as MYW tickets will continue to be available and off-site guests will need tickets. Unless the off-site guests purchases a MagicBand, their MYW tickets would be on RFID enabled media which is starting to appear at the ticket windows now.

I'm worried about this as well. My family goes to WDW every other year, so an AP won't work for us. When we do go, we go into the parks only 2-3 days. We bought 10-day PHs with NE in 2008 and have planned to use them for 5 trips. I figured we wouldn't have to buy more for a few more years, but now I'm hearing they may be doing away with the option. I would like to go ahead and buy at least one ticket now, but really don't have the extra $650. I'm not sure what we will do in the future since it will cost over $1000 just for my family to go into the parks 2 days!

As far as I can tell the only one who actually Is believing this right now is the mousesavers web site. From what I understand is if you ask Disney they are still selling the NE option you just need to ask them for it.

Any speculation, then, as to why they'd remove them from signs and the website?

No expire tickets really do have their place. With One to Three day MYW tickets, the cost of entry is relatively high as compared to Seven to Ten days. What about people that can only go to the parks for those shorter jaunts? Maybe they could make the waterparks able to be used as a package with the parks, rather than an add on. I dunno.:confused3

I don't think they will remove it completely any time soon. I think it will be like those medicines you can get if you know to ask the Pharmacist about them, as they keep them behind the counter.
