Ticket Bridging & MYW Discounts

Hey all!

I have been seriously entertaining the idea of upgrading to an AP since I am taking a 12 day/11 night vacation in early 2020, and possibly returning later in the year. The savings just make sense! I just have some questions that I cannot find anywhere online, and as much as I trust my TA who hooked me up with some serious discounts I just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this and could provide some insight.

Details of my trip:
02/20/2020-03/02/2020 at All Star Movies
10 day PH tickets
Memory Maker
DDP for me and my daughter
2 different discounts - 15% off rack room rate(this qualified us for the $30/person gift card since it was 6+ nights), and kids dine free with the purchase of 3 night/3day MYW package

So my questions are these:
1 - If I upgrade the day I check in for myself only(possibly my daughter but depends on $$), will we lose our discounts?
2 - Will the memory maker transfer over and not have a waiting period(all photos will be taken after I upgrade)?

1) No, upgrading your tickets when you arrive at WDW will not eliminate your discounts
2) If you know you are upgrading to AP, I would take Memory Maker off your package (if you can at this point). MM will begin as soon as you upgrade to your AP. If you can't take MM off at this point, ask for a refund or ask that the price be put toward your AP purchase when you do your AP upgrade at WDW.

Edited to add: If you know you are upgrading to an AP, you may want to price out AP resort discounts to see if it offers you further savings that what you are currently getting. You do not need an AP in-hand when you book AP discounts, you just need it at check-in or shortly after.

Your TA can check the AP rates for you. But you can't check the AP rates on-line without actually having an AP tied to your MDE account. You could also call Disney directly and ask them about the AP rates, but that should get you the same info as your TA has.

Just to clarify, for the kids dining promotion it requires buying park tickets. If I get an AP for both of us will that fulfill the requirement for that promotion or will I need to buy 3 park tickets, prioritize them behind AP and apply them to AP renewal?

Buy the required tickets. Then, after arrival, upgrade any of those to AP.
Once you arrive, there are no longer any package requirements regarding tickets.

For the purpose of upgrading during your vacation, package tickets are correctly valued at the ticket booth price of the same kind of ticket as of the time you upgrade. This is regardless of a discount from the sum of the costs of room, dining plan, tickets, memory maker, mini golf vouchers, etc. in the package if all were purchased separately (a la carte).
