Ticket / AP gripe

So, I'm 1/2 venting 1/2 looking for info....

The reason we didn't all already have DVC AP vouchers in our accounts is because we had multiple random single day / 2 day unused tickets from trips past. (Purchased as part of Free Dining Promo's). Anyway, I know from calling (way back when) that the only way to upgrade them into a DVC AP was in person. So, that was the plan. Yep. The plan.

Fast forward to (stupid, annoying) theme park reservations and lack of APs....

I had to buy MORE 2 day tickets in order to be able to reserve the # of park days I wanted for a trip we should be on right now. But we're not. Because we cancelled.

So, those "new" but date specific / expiring at weeks end tickets.....

Can they be upgraded by phone ..... to anything.... ever?

Ideally, AP's come back and I want to upgrade to an AP. Will that be possible or only in person or not even possible at all?

Seriously, I'm much more frustrated over ticket / AP disappointments than I am the constand booking / cancelling of trips cycle we are on.

I didn't want to even deal with it right now, but today it occurred to me that maybe rules for ticket changes might be different today (when my ticket is technically date valid) vs some other time (when I hear the great news that APs are back but I probably find out I can't use any of my tickets toward a purchase)

I read the ticket info sticky on another board but it wasn't specific about phone upgrades for date specific tickets to DVC APs.

Thoughts anyone? Thanks!

From my understanding, if the tickets were bought from Disney, you can call and they will change the tickets for you to different dates, add days, etc, via phone,

If they are bought elsewhere, they can’t help that way...only in person. I had tickets last year I needed changed, but since I didn’t buy from Disney, it couldn’t be done.

I currently want to renew my AP but was told I couldn’t use a ticket I had to do it on the phone. Just going to next week when I am there,

The tickets were purchased through Disney directly (online) and not part of a vacation package.

So, it's sounding like I may be able to upgrade them (more days) and change dates by phone (enabling me to reserve more park days if needed for our next trip) but not use toward an AP.

Sound right?

That is what I was told in the summer. It has been mentioned that if you have them in your MDE and you go on via website,...not app...it may let you do it online as well...providing all ticket holders are managed by you and don’t have the same account,

For example, I can’t do anything with my DD or her boyfriends things, even though they are family and friends, because they have their own MDE. For those that do not, I can.
