ticket and money question - how do you carry yours?

Do you keep your tickets in your purse or wallet or pocket? Do you use some kind of ticket holder that goes around your neck (if so where did you get it and how did that work out?)?

Also, I've heard people mention something about putting money on your tickets so you don't have to carry cash. How does this work?

One more thing, do you mostly use travelers checks, cash, or debit/credit card when buying dinners, souvenirs, etc? I'm trying to figure out what is the safest, most convenient way to pay for things.

Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!

I have an oversize wallet which I keep money and tickets etc in

When we are at the parks though I tend to keep them in the pocket of my shorts so I do not have to keep getting my wallet out, providing they are shorts with a button or velcro etc

We do not use travellers cheques just cash - just prefer using money when paying for goods or at restaurants etc

We got back last Saturday. We used cash, disney dollars, and travelers cheques. We used the Disney Dollars first, and my husband I and each had half the cash and travelers cheques. I wouldn't carry all cash and didn't want to charge everything (I wouldn't feel like the vacation was "paid for" when we got home). Travlers cheques were very easy to use in WDW. YOu by them, sign one line and when you use them you sign the other line and it is written to WDW. You get cash back from the cashier. Have a good time.

Disney Dollars are accepted everywhere, I even bought appletini's at PI with them!!

I go 'ilght' in the parks. I have a tiny little wallet and only carry my ticket, a little cash and my room card which I can charge on, in my pocket (if my DH is with me, he gets to do the honors). Upon leaving, if we want, we'll pay off our charges when we check out.

I wear a waste pouch and keep our tickets in it...in an inside pocket. In the morning I bring a travellers cheque(s) with us and a little cash in case we want something small. When we have a meal I cash the traveller cheque and keep the rest of the money to use the rest of the day. If we make a large purchase etc. I bill it on my room card and go down to the front desk later and make the payment.

Yes, I used the ticket holder that goes around the neck. It is from www.passporter.com
It is called Passporter pass holder pouch. It has 6 compatments with an attached neckcord. It is about 5x6 and a half inches big and cost $7.95.
It worked great. I always had my ticket ready and it was great for keeping my fast passes in also.
Have fun at Disney!

We don't take a lot of cash to WDW, since most everything can be charged to your room key. We take about $1000...500 of that in smaller bills like 10's and 20's.

During travel, I have a Ferragamo bag that locks with a key, so I know all our stuff is safe and secure while going thru the airports. You are allowed to lock your pocketbook, since it is not considered checked baggage.

While in the parks, we carry $50 each in samller bills. We charge everything we can to the room on the room key. I also wear a coach singnature swing bag. It is small and is worn across your body. Its very comfortable and has a convenient outside pocket which is great for tickets. It holds my camera and lots of other necessities as well. Nothing gets lost and you don't have to take it off when going on rides. Actually you don't even know you have it on. I also love it for shopping at home...hands free! It also looks much better than a fanny pack. I get lots of compliments on it...espically in WDW.

You can find it here www.coach.com if interested.

I have a small wallet that has a clip on it. It is made of soft material alittle bigger than my credit cards. I clip it to the belt loops on my pants/shorts. I am so scared if I put my stuff in my pocket that it will fall out. I have also put my money etc. in the front pouch of my small camera case. I wear the camera over my shoulder and neck so that I know it isn't going anywhere. Plus, I don't have to worry about leaving it on a ride. Instead of charging everything to the room, this year I purchased a Disney Dining and Gift card. I have prepaid the amount so that we don't have to carry the cash on hand.

I have a $10 Target travel bag that has a discreet compartment for credit cards, ID and cash. If I sling it sideways over my chest, I feel safe.

As far as our actual tickets, I have a little credit card holder with a plastic window. I keep the tickets in part of it and slip the fastpasses into the section with the clear window so I can see the return time. I carry a little wallet and put it in a fanny pack. For this trip, though, I might try to figure out some kind of wallet that goes around my neck, but it has to fit my cell phone.

I have a small zipper pouch that goes around my neck, I got it at Kennedy Space Center. It has two zippered compartments and is just the right size for my room key, a little cash, a credit card (in case Disney resort computers go down), Drivers License (ID for an emergency), DDE card, Annual Pass, and key to the in-room safe.

I always carry a bag, since I have a few things to hang onto. I use a small bag with a long strap that I can wear sideways across my body so I have my hands free. Going in and out of buildings/attraction I am always removing my sunglasses, so I like to tuck them into my bag. I also use a mini wallet for my check card and my room key to keep them together. I usally keep my AP in my front pocket along with any fast passes I may have. I don't keep anything else in my front pocket so that my pass won't fall out if I am grabbing for something else in my pocket. I like using my check card, because I can control my balance available in case I lose it. I usually only keep the balance close to what I plan on spending, and transfer funds as I need to. If I carry a credit card (IMO) it feels more risky because if I lose it someone could potentially charge all the way up to my limit.
In my bag I have my camera, mini wallet, sunglasses, lip stuff, comb, cell phone, and a couple of asprin. My bag has an outside pocket where I can tuck in the map and the park schedule. Wha la!

I just picked up a wallet at Walmart that is on a strap to go around my neck. It has a clear window on the outside and a zippered pocket for money. When I got it I was thinking about the airport where you have to show ID about a million times and it's a pain to keep digging out my drivers license but after I got home I realized that it should work to hold our room key/tickets in also.

I wear my pin lanyard around my neck and on the end of it one of those little clear pouches (like the ones that hold work id cards - oh wait, it is the one that holds my work id card!).

It holds my room key/ticket which I use for charging most things and $23 in cash (1 $10, 2 $5's, 3 $1's) for small stuff.

I bought the passport pouch, but I was wondering about having something that size hanging around my neck- it seems that it would get in the way when walking or eating. I think since we are leaving next week that we'll be wearing sweaters so can keep the pouch tucked under that, but what do people do when they are just wearing t-shirts?

TAKitty or anyone:
Where do you get the Disney Dining and Gift cards? Is that like a prepaid card that you keep deducting from as you eat? Would charging to the room work in a similar way if you pre-put money onto your room card?
Thanks for all the replies.

I keep my Room/park card in the clear lanyard holder ( for fast fastpass and chargeing ) in my pocket clipped to my beltloop. Then I keep my cash (very little) and driverlic. in a small waterproff hard case clipped in the other pocket.I always use Clips for everything I carry while riding rides or in crowds (pickpockets).

I usually just put my tickets in the smallest zippered compartment on my fanny pack. Easy access when I need a fast pass or to charge something to it. I carry very little cash money in the parks. I prefer to charge most items to my ticket.
