I've never found the vertical sized one's to have an issue in the parks. I did have a bungee id holder break on me - so now I only use lanyards or rope/paracord. I also wear it separately from my DL pin lanyard personally, so the bulkyness of the pins can be removed if need be.
Thank you all. Nonsuch I have ordered this for our trip in June. I think this will keep the tickets safe, have credit cards, and not have to carry full wallet around.
Walmart sells these also, near the camp items. Sevylor, Outdoor Products and Coleman brands.
I normally use a soft lanyard pouch for my tickets, fast passes and PP card. I dont want the ride operators to tell me I can't take the hard case on the rides.
I use the Witz brand above, and no one has ever had an issue with the case. Not even at Universal Orlando, where they actually DO have restrictions on what you can take on a ride.
The soft plastic disney-sold pouches tend to rip off the cheap metal rings easily. Despite it being a disney lanyard, disney pouch, and disney ride, Disneyland charged us to replace DH and DS's APs when they caught on the Screamin' restraint and went flying off. And Disney employees never found it on/under the track in over a month.
Like the other poster said, replace the cord with your favorite lanyard for fun. I generally use my Ravenclaw lanyard, even at WDW and DLR. : )
I use a small, zippered pouch. It is a little bigger than a credit card, and I can put my ID, credit card, ticket, some cash, and any fast passes I have in it. It fits in my pocket.

We use a lanyard like the Minnie and Mickey ones someone posted above. Or, often I will just throw my debit card, entrance tickets, hotel card, and some cash in my front jean pocket.
My cell phone cover (iPhone 6) has a card holder on the back that securely holds up to 3 cards. I usually put my DL, CC and AP in it. I rarely carry cash inside the park.
