Hello -

My wife, 2 daughters (age 9 and 5) and I are going to France on Tuesday (24th June) for 3 weeks, the first four days (Tuesday night to Saturday morning) being spent at EuroDisney. We are staying the first 2 nights in the Explorers Hotel, and the final 2 nights in Dream Castle Hotel. I booked the hotels via Expedia.

Now, I am assuming that our hotel bookings do not come with any Disney Passes, and so I am considering buying these at our local Disney Store tomorrow (Sunday) as I have been told that this is cheaper than buying them at EuroDisney (which was my initial plan) due to the currency movement.

I am really after advice on what type of Pass offers the best value? My local Disney Store are offering a 4-day Pass (for the price of 3-days) for £93 (Adult) & £79 (Child). But, I now realise from this Forum that there are Annual Passes (which appear to range from 89, 129 or 179 Euros), which can be bought at the Park (and the cost of the 1 day entry Pass refunded). I think someone on the Forum made mention of children under-7 going free under an Annual Pass - is this correct, and can anyone expand on this please? Also, does anyone know which are the restricted days under the Fracilian and Fantasy Annual Passes please (as the link from the Disney site does not work)? We would not intend buying loads from the Boutiques (Well, says me, my daughters may have other ideas!), so the shop discount is not worth that much to us, although the restaurant discount may be useful. And we may consider going to the EuroDisney again in autumn or next Easter.

I notice from the Forum that queues will be lengthy (some up to 90 minutes!) and it will be very busy. This will be disappointing, but I hope it does not detract from our 1st Disney experience. :woohoo:

Finally, does anyone have any advice on a tried and tested route through the 2 Parks over 3 days, for 1st time visitors (like us)? Or is it a case of just jump in and see?

Thanks so much in advance for all your help! :)

Andrew.

Hi Andrew and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

The general rule of thumb is anything beyond 3 days normally means that APs are worth considering.
Unfortunately the Disney site only has AP details in French. Have a look at The Very Useful Info sticky. You'll find a link to APs and also a link to the sponsor thread that may be of interest :)

The most expensive pass - dream -gives the best discounts and there are no blackout days.

The next one - Fantasy - still gives good discounts but there are blackout days. You can get a list of these on DLRP magic - sorry just checked and it cant be accessed at moment but Ive checked lefalet we've got and no blackout days whilst you are there

The cheapest pass cant be used on 2nd and 3rd days after purchase so no good for you.

The childrens passes are same price as adults. The free child passes are for under 7s so you could get one free pass.

Ive sent you a pm

hi ,weve just come back form dlp and i bought a fantasy annual passport for 129 euros ,no ques at the desks, the offer is on til the beginning of november 2008,buy and adult and 1 child under 7years free annual passport.you can use the fantasy passport straight away and it does have blackout dates (usually school hols and xmas ,new year) but i wouldnt go then anyway unless you enjoy queing!!you buy your passport at the gates and get a tempory pass to get into the park, you then go to the passport office which is very easy to find and not far from the entrance, once there they change it to your annual passport, however remember to take your passports for identity, also for the free child to check their date of birth.they take a photo of you for your pass and basically it takes 10mins at the most.also remember to use it at disney village (meals bars and disney stores) for your 10% off.
