Well, I am usually a strong Airmiles booster here on the Board, but at this point I am just steaming! I have been saving for several months for our MYW passes for our upcoming trip. I was within about 25 airmiles and thought I would just wait for this month's Miles to be credited and then purchase the passes (we are not going until end Jan so lots of time). Well, I go to the website just to see if my balance is sufficient, and much to my surprise, I realize that the number of Airmiles needed has been increased by approx 500 Miles!!!! I can understand that they need to adjust prices but it just feels so wrong to have no warning and have been so close (I could have just topped up my Miles for 0.30 cents per Mile or about $10 but I didn;t see a need at the time) and now I am still off about 500 Miles!!!!!!! Anyway, I wrote them a complaint email (after being on their awful push 1 or this, push 2 for that phone system for 10 mins and then being disconnected which did not help my mood!!!) so hopefully they will take my loyalty into account....but I am not holding my breath!!! :sad2:

I agree, that really stinks. And it isn't easy to just come up with 500 extra points!!!

That sucks. When I saw the ticket price increase a few months ago, I quickly ordered mine, as I had a feeling they would up the airmiles needed.

Were you going to get the all inclusive ticket? I ordered 3 MYW 7-day base tickets a couple of weeks ago and they were 2170 miles each. I see now they have raised them by 60 airmiles to 2230. I assumed that with the ticket price increase that Airmiles would raise the number of miles at some point. When they run out of tickets they likely have to order the new ones at the higher price and pass that along to us.

Hopefully you get a positive response from them. Good luck.

That's rough. I don't usually end up with many Airmiles so I rarely check their website. I will be checking tonight to see how many miles I now have since I got some with my upcoming Westjet flight to BC. Does Airmiles usually give notice that the number of miles required for something will be changing?

Darn. I never thought of that. Good thing I got 4 out of 5 of mine. Oh well. What doesn't go up in price.

Also remember that Air Miles has to buy the tickets from Disney. And with the Canadian dollar declining so rapidly, once Air Miles was out of their current supply of tickets, they would have to buy the next ones at a much higher price with the new exchange rate. So, the number of Air Miles need to cover the tickets would need to go up as well.

I just ordered my passes too...I thought they were a little higher !

OK, something to try. I haven't logged into Airmiles for a while now but they used to have the charity donations. You had to type it in the search box. If I remember right for 20 dollar donation you got something like 120 miles but I could be off a bit. We wanted to get hotel and car rentals for our cruise but decided on a camcorder instead...

OK folks here is another thought. If you search the stores that have lots of bonus airmiles it might help. Keep in mind this is not the best example however I stopped in LCBO yesterday and picked up a few supplies. Spending 42 dollars I racked up 12 airmiles. We won't be using the airmiles to buy park tickets but it's nice to get to order from their catalog.
