Last night I pulled a tick off of my DD's back. I remember thinking "she doesn't have a mole there?" and when I got close as she was changing her clothes, I realized it was a tick the size of an eraser head of a pencil.

It just started to bite her, when I pulled it off her, it took just a tiny piece of skin with it. Now the bite looks like it does when you get a shot, just a pin like red dot.

Of course I'm really nervous about it, the nurse said to keep the tick in an airtight container in case it needs testing and monitor her for symptoms from 3-30 days.

So just a reminder to everyone, check yourselves and your kids, she didn't even know it was there, never felt it. Your pets too!

Grr, I hate these ticks:mad:

hubby had one walking on his arm yesterday.......check animals too.....they bring them in when they are not attached too....

Blech!! I've had to pull ticks off DS twice. Both times was not a pleasant experience.

Tell me about it! I spent a total of 10 minutes in my backyard today and Friday and in total pulled off 12 baby ticks. My whole body is itchy now and it's driving me crazy!!

I get SOOO itchy thinking about ticks and bugs and EWW EWW EWW.
The one good thing about winter....NO TICKS!

Ewww.... Luckily we don't get too many ticks around here, but I always worry when we go camping.

This is what dd's ear looked like when we pulled it out of there. Ticks are nasty little creatures and I have yet to figure out what, if any good they are on this earth for.

I have heard that both ticks and mosquitos are going to be bad this year!

so the ticks won't attach but that can be a bad thing too. I have to check her thouroughly each time she comes in (she is an exclusively inside dog {princess} but does need to go out to do her business) In the past two days I have removed four ticks from her that would have been walking around my house. And she is only outside on a leash for about 15mins a day!
I got bit by a chigger when photgraphing the foxes this week and the itch is SO horrible...bad year for bugs :(
