Tiana’s beignets look so good, but is Golden Oak outpost a circus restaurant?

You know, a circus restaurant where you have to juggle your food because seating is very limited or non-existent. Doesn’t seem to me that the powdered sugar would be conducive to eating standing up (or maybe I should speak for myself).

:jester: Thoughts?

Golden Oak does not have much seating, though there are usually some outside tables nearby Tortuga Tavern. I don't know how busy that area is with the beignets on offer.

It's the old french fry place, right? They seem a little easier to eat while strolling about.

I'm not sure about the seating but had to laugh about the powered sugar. I wear it all the time and it doesn't matter if I'm sitting or standing.

I think I've been traumatized from getting beignets at POFQ for breakfast once, wearing a black sweatshirt. The powdered sugar did nothing for my wardrobe :sad2:

No need to stress. The beignets at French Quarter are far superior IMO.

Although not quite as convenient :tilt:

We tried the beignets at Golden Oak Outpost and tossed them. They are not made fresh and just reheated. Not worth the cost in our opinion.

We would agree with @muppets3d that the ones at POFQ are much better!

Whoa! I'm mad at Sleepy Hollow for doing away with the nutella fruit waffle that used to be my MK breakfast. Thought I'd give beignets a try, but maybe not!

It is that location, yes, on the rear path between Adventureland and Frontierland and across from the side of Tortuga Tavern/Pecos Bills.

Of course now I'm remembering having beignets at Cafe du Monde in the other French Quarter.
Having eaten beignets there many times, I can’t eat the ones at POFQ. I think it’s like lobster rolls - I’d probably have loved the ones they used to sell on the Boardwalk, while people from Maine would find them deficient.

There's nothing like the original. Actually, I find the beignets served at Disney's Hilton Head Island resort to be closer to genuine NOLA beignets than anything you'll find at WDW.

That's like me and FlameTree Barbecue or Polite Pig. I always hear they are good. They even smell good. But I just can't.... 🤣

We like the beignets at Golden Oak Outpost and most recently had them in October. Seating was tight, so we walked across the pathway to Tortuga Tavern and had a little slice of heaven, away from the crowds, while enjoying our snack. We've also taken them into Pecos Bill's in July, while the kids had beignets and I had food from PB's. A/C was needed! It was so hot! I made sure to contain their powdered sugar mess.

Interesting. I wonder how they came to be served there.

Now I'm curious to do my own taste test and try them at Golden Oak and then head over to POFQ for them. I had them there before, but not recently. I wonder why they're so different at the two places. And, it occurred to me that if I'm planning them for breakfast not only couldn't I also juggle a cup of hot coffee, but GO doesn't serve it (apparently, according to the Disney menu).

I've only been once, on a Road Scholar trip, it was wonderful.

I love to eat travel :lovestruc

Being a BBQ lover, I had to at least see what Flame Tree was serving. Boy was I disappointed. Not worth it at all!

The beignets in MK are terrible. Port Orleans has the best. Didn't even finish the ones at golden outpost

Gee, that's certainly the consensus. The space is so limited at Golden Oak, I wonder if they're premade somehow. At least at POFQ there are seats.

First they took away my cinnamon roll at Main Street Bakery, then the fruit and Nutella waffle at Sleepy Hollow, and now it seems I can't look forward to beignets either (at least not at MK).

But I do love the smell walking by.

I looooove beignets and really didn't mind the ones at Golden Oak at all - maybe we just hit a good time? Staying at POFQ in a few weeks and this makes me even more excited to try those for the first time!
