Thyroid Biopsy UPDATE post 23

So glad it all went ok!! I love that sense of relief when you have something like this behind you.

I know the waiting for results is stressful, too. I've had to do a LOT of that lately for my DD (in fact, at any given time, we have been waiting on results from one test or another for the last 6 months). I keep telling myself that no amount of worry changes the outcome and, when it comes back A-OK, I'll regret the time I spent worrying.

Here's hoping the week goes by quickly for you!!

Glad things went ok. I wish I had seen your OP because i would have wished you luck. The surgeon I had who did mine gave me a boatload of nonsense about how I didn't need to be numbed for the rough needle. When the first pass didn't work I stood my ground and demanded to be numbed before I'd let her touch me again. When she balked I asked her how many time she actually had it done to her, she said no & I said case closed, ante up.

Anyhoo, it's good that your Dr numbed you up. I hope you get the very best kind of news from the biopsy!

I just got a voicemail from my Dr. (Why is it that when you are waiting for a return call your phone doesn't ring, just goes straight to voicemail?)

She said that everything is benign. I am so happy & relieved. I've been a nervous wreck since last Tuesday when I had my biopsy. I gave them a call on Friday of last week for the results but they are just getting back to me today. I have an appt with her tomorrow to discuss all the results so the light was at the end of the tunnel (regarding waiting for the results) but now I can sleep easy tonight and go into the appt without being so nervous.

My DH had this done around Xmas time. His was benign too...he actually has 2. He just had to do yearly scans to make sure they didn't grow. and he doesn't have any thyroid issues or Hashimotos. So he just need the yearly check ups for right now.

I was very nervous at the time too....but it all turned out ok. Glad yours did too.

I'm very happy for you! We've played that "waiting game" so many times in the last few years.. I knew what you were going through. In other happy news, my DD is finally starting to feel better about a month after her meds were increased.

It's been years since I've seen her as she REALLY is - energetic, happy, full of smiles and laughter. She's BAAAACK!!
