We'll be in WDW with my parents (God help me) from March 24th to the 31st, staying in a THV and using Disney's transportation.

From what I understand about the busses (it's only our second dvc trip), you can go to the various parks from a resort, but not resort to resort. If we have ADRs at a resort for dinner, would we go to DTD via the busses? I booked a Segway tour at Fort Wilderness, so would I have to go to DTD then to FW?

Yes thats correct you will want to go to DTD, or the other option would be to go to Magic Kingdom and then take the boats or bus over to FW.

If it were me, I would avoid DTD at any cost. I just take the first theme park bus that comes along and transfer there. Also, keep in mind that from the THV you have to either take the shuttle bus to SSR or walk over to catch the regular buses.

Oh man!!! We're staying with 8 of us in these the end of may, and will have 2 cars. We have one double stroller, and one wheelchair in the group. I'm stressing over the transportation, but I have stayed at other resorts, with ADR's at WL and Poly, and always went to MK and used transportation from there. I'm still unsure of what we'll do with our trip, I'm torn between driving everywhere, and taking disney transportation. Is it simliar to FW transportation? I didn't find that all too bad!! Little more time Maybe, but not too bad.

You'll love the Segway tour. Very cool... We got there by going to Magic Kingdom and then taking the boat over the Fort Wilderness. It's about a 10 minute walk from the dock.

Our last trip was with family. We had fun, but the last night it was just the 6 of us and we needed it. We're checking into THV for the first time on the 28th. - but I have two twins that are in the midst of puberty, so I may be pulling my hair out as well!:rotfl:

I completely agree.....DTD busses, especially early in the morning are not the most reliable. I would take a park bus and go from there.

I did not mind the transportation from the treehouses, not like many people who make it out to be the worst thing in the world. I did use the internal shuttle a couple of times, but it takes longer than just walking over to Grandstand bus stop and getting park busses from there. We mainly used the internal shuttle when going to main pool, etc and we weren't really in a hurry...

if the shuttle is not there, we walk to the grandstand. not too bad of a walk. I agree with taking MK bus then transferring to FW boat. We also do that with WCC and hoop de doo reservations.
