Hello! We are 5 weeks away from our 16 night stay at Disney. 3 of those nights will be at THV. I am trying to decide at this point wether to drive (from NH) or fly. I was curious if any of you have an opinion on if it is beneficial to have a car at THV? We move from AKV to THV and then again to BCV and I know that whole transportation system with THV is slightly more involved than other resort. We will also have 5 kids with us and the first day at THV plan on spending it at the pool area at SSR and later we have dinner at the comtemporary. Would having a car make it easier to get around or is the bus system working fine enough..in you humble opinions! TIA One thing I never though of...it doesn't cost to park at any of those resorts does it? If we drove to any of the parks are there parking fees even if you are a resort guest? We have always flown so I have no idea!!!!

I haven't stayed there, but we always drive to WDW. And we often will drive to any of the themeparks or waterparks except for MK. We always take the bus because parking is a pain at the MK.

You'll have one parking place at the THV. You can walk from the THV to the Grandstand or take the bus. And as a resort guest, you will be able to park at the theme parks for free. Parking at the resorts to visit the resorts is also allowed. But at the Polynesian, CR/BLT and GF, you may need to have an ADR there.

I would say a car might be easier for you. Since you'll be switching resorts twice and plan dining at resorts you might have an easier time if you had a car. When we switched from AKV to THV in June we had a car but let Bell Svcs move our luggage, they only do it once a day and so we didn't have access to our luggage until later in the afternoon. That wasn't a big deal for us though since we didn't get into our THV room until around 4:45p. If you have them move your luggage be sure to take your swimming stuff with you.

If you do NOT have a car at THV you will catch a bus from THV to the Grandstand stop at SSR and then transfer to another bus to the parks/DTD. Travelling from resort to resort easily takes 1+hr each way. You'd need to take a bus to a park and then transfer to a bus to whichever resort you're going to. There are no buses that go between resorts.

As a resort guest there is no parking fee at the parks. Resorts do not charge for parking.
