We will be staying in the THV in early September. I'm posting this here even though I'm not DVC because SSR and the THV don't get much attention on the regular boards.

The THVs seem fabulous, but I am concerned about bugs due to being in the woods. Are mosquitos a horrible problem at that time of year, and are there many bugs inside the THV? I do expect to encounter insects outside, but I want all the creepy crawlies to stay put there! What has been everyone's experience?

TIA :upsidedow

We were there the last week of May, first week of June. We brought bug spray but never even opened it! Not sure how September is for bugs, but we had no issues with mosquitoes or other bugs. There were no bugs noted in the THV except and occasional moth that got in if someone left the door open too long when we would come back at night. No creepy crawlies noticed at all inside. Have a great stay, the THV was wonderful:thumbsup2

I was there also last June and was concerned about bugs. We even sat out on the deck at dusk. No bugs. I don't know what Disney uses???? Maybe the bugs can't afford it there?:rotfl2: Have fun

Great! Thank you so much! I am relieved and super super excited to be staying there. :dance3:

Disney has banned mosquitos from WDW. I am not sure what it is doing but the population on site now always seems limited no matter where you are. Nevertheless, you may see bugs depending on when they actually show up this September, that is, the lovebugs.
