Just got back on Wednesday from our stay at THV, our first stay as owners on property. It was an interesting trip, but I'm not the greatest writer.
Just a little background, it was myself, dw, ds(7 m/o), dd(5), my mom, my 2 brothers and wife's friend.

We arrived via Jetblue @ 10:00 am on Wednesday, did ME to SSR. Our THV was not ready, but we had a great location, #7060, which was right next to the pool, and a short walk to the bus stop and boat dock. We wandered around the resort a bit and had lunch at Artist Palate. The food there was great and the people on here who recommended the cheeseburger flat bread were right on. Sat in a rocking chair overlooking the pool for a few, took my daughter to the arcade for a few. We got our text that the room was ready. Got loaded up on the golf cart for the ride.

We got to our THV and the pictured and video I saw on line didn't do it justice. It was really nice. The master bath is great and the kitchen/lr/dr was great. We got changed and went to the pool for a while. Really liked the THV pool. Especially since it was so close.

After that we went to DTD for dinner at Earl of Sandwich and ice cream at Giardelli's. Great end to a good day. The last decent 1 till after the weekend.

Woke up early on Friday morning for character breakfast at AK. While waiting for the bus, dd said she had to go to the bathroom. She seemed a little whiny, but was hoping it was because we were up early 2 days in a row. We went to breakfast which was really good, I actually was impressed with the quality of the food, but was definitely concerned with my dd who wasn't acting right. She was happy to see the characters, but just not herself.
After breakfast, we were going to go on some rides, but dd said she really didn't feel good, and wanted to go back to the room. (No I know things aren't good. DD never gets sick, and when she does, she is a trooper. She's the type who wants to go to school sick, so if she doesn't want to go on rides, thats bad.) We go back to the room, and put ds down for a nap, have dd go lay down and we decide to take a nap. Wake up a little later and dd now has bad stomach pains and a fever. We call the front desk and they connect us with sentracare who sends a van to p/u dw and dd to go to doctor. Wife has me stay back with ds and rest of family with intention of meeting us at Epcot. We were going to dinner at FWF booths and had tickets to 3d dessert/illuminations. DW and dd were at sentracare for 6 hours because they were so crowded and missed it.
I will pick this up later, have to get dd off bus.

Sorry your daughter got sick. Hope she recovered in a short time. Looking forward to hearing more of your trip. Thanks for taking the time to share!

Have a few minutes, so I will do a little more of this.

So while dw and dd were at Sentracare, I went with the rest of the gang to Epcot. We did a light dinner at the booths for f/w. The spanikopita from Greece was good, as were the Lamb Burger, and the Cheddar Cheese soup. Had a beer from the beer booth, and it was time for the 3d Dessert party. We were pretty happy with this. I had a really good glass of red "ice" wine. They had donuts flambéed in whiskey with vanilla-whiskey ice cream, and sundae toppings which was really good, maybe 1 of the best desserts I've ever had. Tried the pastries, they were ok. Wasn't impressed with a lot of the other stuff. I think if dd was there, she wouldn't have been happy as there were only 1 or 2 other kids there. So we watched illumination from the are i/f/o the gift shop by canada which was pretty cool, ds really enjoyed it until he fell asleep.

We left Epcot and met my wife at the springs. She was just grabbing something from AP for dd to eat. We headed back to the room, gave my daughter her antibiotics, and went to bed.

We got up late on Saturday, since we didn't have any daytime plans. We had dinner reservations for the french restaurant in Epcot so we figured we would take it easy, and let dd recoup a little bit. We went to Epcot around 2, did SSE, Nemo and Turtletalk which the kids enjoyed, saw a few characters, and made our way back to France. We were seated a little early, although there was some confusion with the amount of people in our party. Dinner was ok, I had the french onion soup, which was good, and the short ribs over pasta, which was ok. I had the chocolate mousse cake for dessert which I really wasn't impressed with. The soup was definitely a big hit with everyone. DD still was not feeling so great which was starting to concern me. The antibiotics should have kicked in by now, and she was still feeling like crap.
We decided to call it a night early and head back to the room. We had an early start for Sunday morning at Chef Mickey's and it was going to be a lonnnngggg day....But for different reasons than we thought. :sad1:

I'm hooked, too! I hope DD is going to be ok!

OK, didn't think there would be that much of a following.

So we got up at 6:30 and decided we would taxi it to CR for breakfast at Chef Mickey's since dd wasn't feeling so great still, and it would allow us to sleep a little later. So we taxi over to CR, and go for breakfast. This is the 2nd time dw and I have eaten here, the last time being 9/11/01. And I think this might be the last time we eat there, because we really have no luck. DD and DS loved the characters and breakfast was pretty good, but dd was now getting worse and spent a good part of the morning in the bathroom. So I call sentracare and our pediatrician who tell me what I already know, we are heading to the hospital. Well, as we are leaving to go get a taxi, dd vomits, and is now in agony and hysterical. So, I go downstairs and call an ambulance. DD is not the type to really complain about anything, so the way she was crying, I knew something was wrong.

So the ambulance comes, and the medic and EMT were great as was the staff at CR in helping us out. They called over to ssr to tell them what was going on, and got a taxi for the rest of the gang to go back there. We took the short ride to celebration hospital. We ended up being there for 4 or so hours, and they diagnose it as the same thing, a UTI. But they give her IM antibiotics, and change the antibiotics she was taking to something else. So we call a taxi and head back to SSR, stop at the main desk, where they reimburse the taxi fee, and fax out her prescriptions, (they also gave her something for nausea).

We go back to the room to rest for a little bit and meet up with the rest of the gang. They had gone shopping at DTD with DS, and of course had bought some stuff for dd since she was sick. We had reservations at WPC @ DTD for dinner, and dd siad she felt better and wanted to go. Dinner was nice, and she was able to eat, and was now doing much better. It is amazing how fast the shots worked. We do a little shopping, trying to find dd a Jessie doll which seems to be unavailable throughout disney. I even put a post on the boards to see if anyone had seen 1, without luck. We headed back to the room to get some rest, and hope that our vacation improved on Monday.

"OK, didn't think there would be that much of a following."

Most all of us care about sick kids and get upset when something spoils a Disney World vacation.

Hope your DD continues to improve:goodvibes
Enjoy the rest of your trip....

It's nice to hear that all the CMs were very helpful to your DD and family :thumbsup2. I hope she's feeling better

Ok, so Monday afternoon we headed over to DHS. DD was definitely better but still a little mopey and tired. Her stomach was still not great, but she wanted to try and do a little something. We did TOT with her, we she didn't like. It was a little too dark and spooky for her. She liked Little Mermaid, and of course Muppets was a big hit. We did a little wandering around and then headed off to dinner. It was EMH that night so I was hoping to do TSMM at night when the wait was less then an hour. We had ressies at 50's Primetime Cafe. We waited almost an hour to be seated since we got there a few minutes early and they were running late. We were finally seated and Byron was our waiter. We all loved it and it was our best meal so far. (I was a little concerned I was going to be thrilled with the little act they do there but it was great.) Byron went easy on DD due to the week she was having, but it was great watching him feed my brothers their veggies. :lmao: I had the Tuna Casserole which was great, as was the Boston Cream parfait for dessert. It was definitely a good time, and we are going to add it to the list our our favorite places to eat. After dinner my mom and brother went back to the THV since he wasn't feeling well, and we headed off to TGMR, the Star Wars store, (missed Star Tours), and TSMM. We waited a little less than an hour, and it was really cool. DD and DS really enjoyed it, especially ds, with all the colors and lights. So we headed back to the room, Tuesday was going to be a long day, with lots of surprises for DD. When we got back to the room, my daughter got her "invitation" from Cinderella for her "Day of Beauty" on Tuesday followed by dinner at the Castle and a party.

We got up early and headed to MK at 9am. DD appointment at BBB was 10:40. We saw the Fairy Godmother on the way there, (somewhat appropriate), and Cinderella's stepmother and stepsisters. My daughter decided to be Ariel, so while she was having her spa day with my wife, the rest of us went to get breakfast and wander a little bit. We headed back an hour later, and she looked beautiful. We went on a few rides and saw a couple of characters. We went on Splash Mountain which is normally dd favorite ride, but she was not thrilled with it this time, think it was because she still wasn't feeling so great. We had dinner in the castle at 5:30. We did the Cinderella pics and went upstairs. I thought dinner was good. We had eaten there on our 1st trip to MK on our honeymoon and I wasn't impressed, but this time the food was pretty good. The service was good, and of course the princesses were a hit. Ds was flirting with them when they stopped by the table. Pretty funny to see a 7 m/o smiling and laughing at a princess. Of course they loved it. DD got a little special attention from Ariel since she was dressed like her. We finished dinner and went out to MNSSHP. We went on PP, had our picture taken with the seven dwarfs, did some trick or treating, and took in the sites. DD played a couple of games. We were wandering around looking for the dance party in frontier land, which was quite hidden. We found it in the Diamond Horseshoe saloon, walked in and saw Jessie and Woody dancing. Well, dd was in heaven. She loves to dance, and Jessie is her favorite character this week. She was out dancing for over an hour. We ran outside to watch the fireworks. DD wanted to go back in, so dw went with her and I stayed out to watch. Hallowishes might be the best fireworks I have ever seen. It was great. After that we headed outside to stake out a spot for the parade. The parade was equally impressive. People on here talk about the ride of the Headless Horseman, and it is as impressive as they say. My son was dressed as a pirate, and was asleep by now, so when the pirate float came by, they yelled at him to wake up. After the parade, we headed back to our THV for our last night. We had to get up early to pack up, check our luggage, and head to dtd for our last few hours.
