I have taken my family (with 3 kids) on three wonderful trips to Disney in the past few years based on help and information that I got off of this board. My single 32 year old brother has now asked for my (read that as "your") help! He will be going to visit 50-something year old friends who live south of Orlando. They have decided to go to just one park for just one day. They want to go to Magic Kingdom. Will the park be crowded on this day? What would all of you suggest as "must do's" for adults with some mobility problems. They have never been to Disney before.

Thanks so much for any tips and ideas! My brother has heard me gush about how wonderful Disney is, and I would like for him to experience some of the magic, too - even if he only has one day!

First, will they be using ECV's? Remember how large MK is, and it isn't any easier w/ mobility issues. When we took my MIL this past spring, she was adamant about not wasting money on a rental EVC. Needless to say she wouldn't of made it up Main St. w/o it.

That said, I think the crowds will definetly be building for Memorial Day Weekend. If they can, arrive at opening. Explain FP, and make sure they utilize it to their advantage. Then possibly make a PS for a nice lunch or dinner. This will give them some nice down time in A/C.

I'll see if they will consider the ECV's ... I'm not sure how much of an issue their mobility is ... my brother is healthy and active, but the older couple he is going with has had some health issues.

Does anyone have a good plan for attractions to suggest to them? We are a commando family, so we "do it all" when we go! I'm thinking that a more relaxed, tour with some "magical moments" might be best for them!

Ideas, please??

Just a heads up that this is an early entry day for on-site guests at the Magic Kingdom....that's going to make it more crowded.

Wow I am surprised at the assumption that a 50 something couple will need EVCs...I am not quite 50 but my husband is and we are far from needing EVCs nor are most of the 50 something people I know. Now true certain health problems might necessitate it but I would really be shocked if someone thought we might need EVCs because we are 50 something.

And we occasionally go commando too so really need to get more information from your brother on what type of plan he wants for the day.

I think the possibility of ECV's came up because I mentioned the 50-something couple has some mobility issues! I'm actually 40, and I just took my 59 year old mother on our 7 day commando tour with no problems!! :)

The couple that my brother will be traveling with has had some heart/health problems, which I don't know the extent of. My purpose in mentioning this was to explain that I would not suggest a "commando" tour for them (as much as I would like for my brother to see it all!). I think a slower paced day with "magical moments" would be better!

This is my original thoughts ... any help or suggestions would be great!

Arrive before or as close to opening as possible.
Go to Tomorrowland.
Get FP for Space.
Ride Buzz.
Go to FantasyLand.
Ride Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, & Mickey's Philharmagic.
Go back to Main Street for a hotdog at Casey's, or go to Columbia House for lunch.
See if Cinderella's Surprise Celeration is playing.
Ride Haunted Mansion.
Get FP for Splash Mountain
Ride Pirates
Watch Tiki Birds
Ride Jungle Cruise
Go back to ride Splash
Ride Train to Toontown. (Is the train still running now??)
See Mickey?
Take path to Tomorrowland.
Ride Space Mountain.
Exit park (get hand stamped). Take monorail to Contemporary for dinner at Chef Mickey's.
Return to Magic Kingdom to watch Wishes.
Eat Mickey Ice Cream while waiting for crowd to leave.
Leave the "most magical place in the world"

Did I leave out any "must do's"????? Is this still too much with "pre-Memorial Day" crowds?

Thanks!
