Thurs. July 16th--will LEGOLAND be crowded?

Has anyone been to LEGOLAND mid-week during July to know if it's crowded or not? I'm wondering:

1) Opening time is 10 AM--what time should we arrive? (We have to get our tickets there at the ticket booth.)

2) What are the MUST DO 1ST rides? (our kids are 3 & 5 years old--3YO is just under 40")

3) Where can you get those apple fries that are supposed to be so yummy? (which food places?)

4) Any other random tips?! Is it really un-shaded around there?

We arrived at 10:30 last Thursday, tickets in hand - and with all the school / camp groups the big coaster already had a 45 minute wait.

If you go to http://www.legoland.com/park/rides/ridesandattractions.htm, on the right side of the screen you can click by height to get rides that your little one can ride. There's a map there as well. Yes, it's kind of u-shaped. We end up walking a lot when criss-crossing the park.

I would consider the driving school to be a not-miss - my 6yo really loves her version of it. We haven't done the smaller version of it. DD likes Fairy Tale Brook...though will deny it to her friends. I like the Kid Tower more than the Sky Cruiser, but that's probably because one line is 5 minutes when the other is 45 minutes.

The coasters are not too scary - Project X jerks you around the most (lots of tight u-turns). Dragon's fun but not scary - fast enough, enough hills and turns.

Apple fries are from Granny's Applie Fries, back in Castle-land.
