The forecast at www.weather.com says "scattered thunderstorms" for Monday and Tuesday next week. Do thunderstorms usually pass quickly in the Bahamas at this time of the year or do they linger for a whole day or several days at a time? Also, does the ship rock pretty bad whenever there is a thunderstorm? I'm crossing my fingers.

Thanks

They usually pass very quickly, if you get any rain at all. :) It does NOT generally affect the motion of the ship.

Enjoy! :)

Was just looking at that myself and had a moment of panic! Let's hope the key word is "scattered" and not where WE are, and wait until after we leave there!
TXOOO, are you on the 4 day or the 7 day? We are on the 4-day and I am counting on FOUR days of warm sun.:smooth: Natt

See ya both next week Natt and TXOOO.

I saw the forecast also. With my luck it will probably snow in Nassau.

We were on vacation right in San Francisco when thay had that last big earthquake  ...the one where the expressway collapsed and the marina area caught fire !

I think that was back in '89.

come on sunshine:smooth: :sunny:

Our family will be on the 4-day Wonder. Can't wait!

We were in the Bahamas twice in late August and although that is normally hurricane season (I think), it rained only for a very short time and during the night too, so we still had plenty of sunshine and good weather during the day. Hope it will be that way next week.

This is a better indicator of how rough a cruise you'll have.

The Bahamas are the first chain of islands east off the Florida coast. Grand Bahama looks kind of comma shaped. Use the chart at the bottom to figure how rough the seas are. Looks very calm there right now.

Natt and TX000 I'll see you next week. EMT-319, are you sure you don't want to reschedule? Just kidding.

cancel... ...are you kidding?

Remind me to tell you about the time we went to Vegas and ended up in a the middle of a flash flood.

...the flash flood (rushing water, 4 feet deep) was INSIDE the casino parking garage. They don't have any storm water drains in Vegas, so when they get those quick heavy downpours, the runoff heads for the lowest point, which for us, just happened to be right where we parked the rental car.

...after the earthquake, on our prior vacation, we figured that "lower" was safer than "upper".

My camcorder batteries are all charged up. I'll be ready to catch that volcanic eruption on Castaway Cay next week!

I wonder how much CNN will pay for that tape?!?;)

This morning's forecast looks a lot better. Hopefully we'll be able to stay dry...

I'm not even going, and I am cracking up at EMT-319. You poor thing! What are the odds of these things happening. Y'all (southern thing) better be nice to EMT!!!!:)

Ok, EMT-319, please no more stories or I'll pay you to cancel! Ha ha...

Yes! The forecast for the Bahamas sure looks better today.

By the way, Natt, Rykdad, EMT-319, do you guys have children, and how old are they? Maybe they'll hang out together.
