Thunder rolls

Why does it sound so soothing to hear thunder at night and listen to the soft sounds of the rain as it comes down, but during the day it usually makes me sad to know that it's signaling that rain is soon on the way?

Yes, I'm aware that's a country song, my dd and my sil both remind me of that when I say something about thunder rolling

LOL, Lentesta, I'm headed more in Lilboo's direction with this thread. I just had to add in I knew it was a country song, even though I detest country music. My understanding about the song is that it's about domestic violence though.

The thunder tonight scared my ds into going to bed early.

I know I'm not helping with keeping it on topic sorry. I do like that song though. HEre's a link to the lyrics. It's about domestic violence........husband cheats, wife finds out and kills him for it.

(Although I liked the song before I knew the meaning behind it. The third verse wasn't put on the albulm which makes it much more generic.)

As for the weather.......I love a good thunderstorm no matter what time of day it is. (as long as I'm inside somewhere)

I just love the sound of thunder and I really like to watch lightening. At night it is peaceful to me to watch the storms come in. Of course here lately it is an everyday thing. LOL

When it storms at night I love to open the curtains and watch the lightning in bed.

I'm not so sure about the thunder. I work for an electric utility company and what comes with the thunder (lightning) gives us quite a bit of problems.

However, I do like the sound of rain when I'm sleeping or taking a nap. It's very peaceful and soothing.
