If there was ever a time when I had doubts whether Thumper trusted me (and I trusted her!!! ), all doubts were erased this evening. She got herself into a bit of a mess!!:earseek:

She was out for her evening romp. She was pretty close to the front door when DH walked in from outside. She paniced and dropped to her side (like she always does when frightened by something unexpected). She started to do what I like to call "the swim" across the floor (she moves all her legs while still on her side and 'swims' across the carpet!) Her swimming caused her to easily (and unexpectedly!!! :scared: ) to slide under the large hutch that sits in the living room. There is only a 2 - 3 inch opening in the front, but once under, she could move freely. Problem was, she could only fit under there when she was laying down.....she was stuck!!:worried: I had to roll my sleeves up, get my arms underneath the hutch to find her. She was so scared and was panicing. Once I cornered her and could grab her with one hand, I had to pass her from hand to hand down to the far side where the opening didn't have the scalloped edges that prevented me from pulling her out the front.:eek:I couldn't see what body part I was grabbing and I know she couldn't see where I was coming from!! This is where the trust played a big part. I had to trust her NOT to bite me and she had to trust that I wouldn't hurt her. I had to pull her out, feet first, while using my other hand to support the rest of her so she would calm down. I am happy to report that she is safely back in her cage....after several minutes of holding one very scared rabbit!!!
:D The only 'injuries' sustained were to me...that scalloped wooden front to the hutch can REALLY scrape up a person's arms!! At least my 'baby' wasn't hurt!! :lovestruc

Poor baby. I bet he is back to be in his cage! Glad all turned out well. I think some extra Cheerios are in order!

He felt so bad that he had startled her so! :( Aside from Jessica, my hands and arms were the only ones to fit under the hutch. Don't think Jess' arms would of been long enough to reach the far back corner where she. I let Thumper out a little bit ago for a short while. She stayed FAR away from the horrible piece of furniture!! :jumping1:
