When my kids were little, they all knew not to take strange foods unless I told them it was ok. I think the lesson must of rubbed off on Thumper! 
Last night, my DH was eating an apple. He had removed the skin and cut it into slices. He offered Thumper a piece and after carefully sniffing it, she turned her nose up to it. 
I was sitting on the floor with her and asked him to hand the apple slice to me. Same slice...nothing new. She sniffed it again................and IMMEDIATELY started taking huge bites out of it! 
Guess she figured it "Mom" offered it to her, it must be OK!
