Just to make sure I understand - I can make a reservation at a campsite, then I can check in on line so I never actually have to go to the campground - my parking will be on my MB?? The morning of the ressie I can go directly to the park? Thanks

Yes. I checked in online, and my parking was linked to the MB for both my arrival and departure days.

I have a split stay booked with first staying on site and then staying off site for the end of the trip. I linked my tickets to MDE. I was only able to book FP+ for days I am staying onsite.

So.. if you are trying to do the throwaway room tactic - expect to only be able to book FP+ for 2 days - check-in and check-out.

I booked for more days as I was not doing a throwaway room but am actually staying onsite for a bit, however, based on my booking experience I do believe that they've closed this loophole. Just wanted to let others know my experience.

UPDATE: The rolling 60 day as described by others does work. After my onsite-stay, once 60 days out from off-site stay, I was able to book one day at a time for the rest of my ticket.

I booked a room on my first night, remainder is off site. Then bought my ap. This was at 49 days and I was able to book 7 nights fp

I think this is because you have an AP. At least I wonder. How long ago were you able to do this? I just have a regular ticket and just did it so it may be a new thing.

We were just in the park today and someone was telling us they couldn't use any of their FP+ because e they hadn't checked into their room. So, it looks like Disney figured out the ghost reservation trick.

When did your FP window open up?

How many days out are you from your trip ? In other words are you trying to book more than 60 days out from your offsite days because that is a problem some have had. Reason I ask is that I just helped my neightbour set up his fp's 2 days ago, he was able to book his throwaway day of arrival and his next day both 60 days out but had to wait until today to book the 1st of his offsite days(which is now 60 days from then). It still let him book 60 days out for that day though and he'll be going day by day for the next 3 days I expect.

I thought one always had to check in for the throwaway, either in person or online, otherwise it would look like you were simply a no show !

We are arriving May 2nd, and staying off site for two weeks, but have two nights in the middle of our stay at POR. We were able to attach our tickets and make our FP+ reservations for the last half of our trip starting with our first night at POR. This was about two weeks ago. And then starting April 2nd, I was able to add FP+ for our first week, once they opened the window for offsite guests.

I have heard that the loophole still exists where somewhere books a room only for the entire length that they have tickets for (ie. book for room-only for 7 days but pay a one night deposit). Then make FP+ selections at 60 days out, cancel the room only portion with less than 30 days before they go (get deposit back) and get to keep the FP+ since they are now inside the 30 day offsite window. I am not even sure if there is a way to close that loophole. People no longer need to keep throwaway rooms since offsite can get them at the 30 day mark. Cancel the throwaway room with less than 30 days.

The window for offsite guests to prebook FP+ reservations is 30 days out. So you would be able to make FP+ reservations for your dates of your onsite reservation 60 days out, then wouldn't be able to make FP+ reservations for the rest of those days until 30 days out from those dates.

They have not closed any loop hole, as you call it, it is a rolling 60 days to book the offsite part. I know it still works as I am in the process of doing it now.

You also do not need to physically check in (at least at the campsite you don't)

We also did this. We are staying one night on site at AOA and then spending a week off site. We purchased our one night room and 7-day park tickets at the same time and we were able to make all of our FP reservations on a rolling basis 60 days out.

We arrive in 32 days and have everything set up and ready to go! :)

Well the AP shouldn't let me book more than 30 nights out and the one night room should only let us book 2 days of FP. It's probably the combination.

Like because I have an ap I can book 7 straight days but the room gets me in 60 days. I'm at 42 right now.

This is great news if they have actually closed this loophole! :yay:

I like that the closed this loop hole.

Now if they would do it for ADR's

What loophole is there for ADRs? (Not that I'm looking for one, but the only one I was aware of was that people were able to make multiple ADRs for about the same time so that they could basically keep their options open and wait until the last minute to decide where to eat but that this was pretty much closed by the introduction of $10 cancellation fees if you cancelled less than 24 hours before.)

What loophole is there for ADRs?

If you book an on site room for the first night of your trip with off site accommodations for the next 9 days, you can make your ADRs 180 days in advance of check-in of the on site stay and then for the next 9 days all on that same day. Were you to book your entire stay off site, you would have to log in to make your ADRs each and every day for 10 days. By booking the on site room, you get a 9 day jump start on that ninth day. That can be crucial when trying to book tough to get ADRs.
