2) our other 3 days of FP bookings will be 30 days prior to the days we go to other parks (which are all before the 6/9 park day on the calendar)?
No. When your window opens for booking FPs for 6/9, all the offsite park days are in the open window.

Book for all your park days but book for Pandora first on 6/9 and try for other days, too.

I remember doing this in the past, but I think it was for getting extra magic bands for booking same day FP in the park at the kiosks. It involved needed to use a new MDE account not linked to. I'm pretty sure that loophole isn't closed but I would still like magic bands for everyone and some extras. Do you not need a ticket linked to the hotel reservation to get magic bands?

Okay so if there are all these booked campsites no one is staying at.. could someone let another person stay there without it being in their name? Like for instance can the person who made the ressie just check in online and bypass standard walk up check in and the person actually staying could just head to the site?

Obviously the person camping has no need for the MB they don't have to actually get in a room with a MB, And if you were an AP holder you would have your own access to FP etc

Just trying to figure out why people wouldn't rent their ressies for half price or something.

OK, so let me do a Captain Obvious question, but I want to be sure I'm going to have it correct.

Our trip is June 29th to July 17th. First actual day in the parks is June 30th (we drive down the night of the 29th). Just yesterday, I bought a 7 day ticket w/park hopper from UT. However, only reason I did that is because our plan is to go to Guest Services on the 30th and upgrade to Platinum Plus APs (UT saved us about $350...woohoo!!!).

If I buy a campsite night with check in on June 30th and check out on July 1st, I'll be able to book 7 days of FP+ (since I currently only have a 7 day ticket) at the 60 day mark even though I only have a one night reservation at the campsite? So I can then book June 30, July 1-6 starting on April 30th? The other 10 days of my trip will have to be booked just 7 days out. Is that accurate?

How would the free parking work? Do they send us something we give at the gate? Since we'll be converting to AP on day one, we'll get free parking through that anyway, but the throwaway room would save us from having to pay for parking on day one and submit the receipt for reimbursement.

How would MBs work? We already have 2 each. One from when we bought them for our summer '15 trip, then we got another set when we impromptu converted that summer '15 ticket to an AP. If we buy a throwaway room and then convert to AP again, will we wind up with 2 more each? Which one do we link to the ticket from UT? Does it matter?

You will only be able to make FP+ for June 30 and July 1 on April 30th. You will then be able to make the remaining 5 days on a rolling basis 60 days ahead of time. For example, you will be able to make July 2 on May 2nd, July 3 on May 3rd, etc. You are correct that you can only make 7 days of FP+ at a time with an AP if you are not staying the entire time onsite.

Right, thanks. Sorry I wasn't clear, I mean to say on a rolling basis for the 60 days. Like you said, I can make my July 3rd reservation on May 3rd, and roll that pattern through all 7 days, even though I'm only "staying" one night.

We learned last year, the hard way, that off site AP can only have 7 days of FP+ at one time. But in the case of my upcoming trip, what will limit me will be the length of the ticket I bought from UT, right? If I book a throwaway, the 60 day window will open April 30th. At that time I won't have an AP yet, just the UT ticket. We won't be converting to AP until June 30th. Though if I can only make 7 days of FP+ either way, would it just make more sense for me to upgrade to AP before our trip down? Reason I'm wondering that is I'm going to be limited to 7 days of FP+ either by the 7 day UT ticket I bought or AP rules if I converted right away, correct? Converting right away would save us a trip to Guest Services. I think I'm confusing myself...

The main thing, to end your confusion;), is that your UT Ticket can only be upgraded at WDW.

So, book your 7 days (2 pre-booked, 5 rolling) and upgrade when you arrive to get all the perks. They'll refund your parking for Day#1.

Got it. Not a big deal to upgrade at WDW, it's easy enough.

What would your thought on how the MBs would work? Would I wind up getting two more for everyone? One when we buy a throwaway and one when we upgrade to AP? Those would be in addition to the two we already have. When I get the tickets from UT, can I just link them to existing MBs and my MDE account and not use the new ones?

@Klayfish ~ use your old MBs; decline the ones that come with the Throwaway room: and then customize your new AP MBs that will be sent to you after your trip. :)

This sounds like a great idea (the one night campsite) but can any Canadian's comment on this? I don't think they will send the magic bands out of the US :(

They won't. In your case, you'd need to pick them up at the resort.

You just stop by and pick them up. No one tries to escort you to your room, etc. ;)

Okay, so I thankfully stumbled upon this thread yesterday (at 62 days out!)....booked my throwaway room for my party of 10, and am anxiously waiting until tomorrow morning to book our first fast passes.
Question: Right now when I look at MDE, it only shows I can book FP on 30 days out....bit this will 'change' on the morning of 60 days out....correct?
Very excited about this.

Correct. It will show 30 days until your onsite window opens.

I just run into this. I have a 4 night stay at Pop. I have a 10 day ticket. When 60 days opened up, I could only get FP+'s for those 4 days. Then as 60 days from each day after opened. I could get a FP.
hmmm...so that means that Disney has caught on and a throw away room no longer works?

If you don't mind me asking, what was the cost of the room you booked and were you able to add all 10 people to that reservation? I have a group of 7 and the WDW site would only show me hotels that would hold all 7 of us meaning that the room cost was waaaay up there.
