Last time I left you we had just went into World Showcase and were debating on eating in Mexico for dinner that night. We went over to look at the menu and decided that we really wanted to try it, but not that night, we don't really have the money to pay for a $50+ meal because we don't get our first paychecks since moving until the last business day in August, especially since we already streched ourselves thin by buying the Disney passes so that we would have something to do until we started work.
So that was the end of that, we love the way it looks like it was outside though. We rode"Gran Fiesta Tour" then left Mexico. We kept going around the world and when we got to Norway we rode Maelstrom, which was good, there was someone terrified that there was going to be a huge drop lol, she was probably 16 or so and I thought she was going to have a panic attack. After the "drop" she was like oh...
Saw the 360 film at China... a little long to stand the whole time IMO but it was decent. Walked through Germany, as well as Italy. Didn't stop at America, figured I could see that another time. We watched the drummers in Japan
Then we walked through Morocco. We actually really liked Morocco.
I'm thankful that the people took this picture for us, but I wish they would have gotten less of the ground and gotten the top of the tiles in the picture. Oh well
Oh and who did we see right before Morocco??
He had to leave before we got up there for pictures though
Haha I just realized it looks like I'm wearing biking shorts in that picture, rest assured-- I'm not.
Now France is where we really saw some action
We were starting to get hungry/tired by this time and mostly just walked past the UK and Canada, we'll see those another time (One great thing about living so close, we don't have to see everything every time).
We decided to go back and try the Electric Umbrella for dinner. We both had the bacon burger, which came with fries, but no drink, which was okay since we had been refilling out water up the whole day anyways. We did refill them with water from the machine this time though (you know how they have water spouts on the soda machines, with that).
After dinner we headed over to the:
Here are the pictures from that - It was Matt's first look at Mickey!:
I know that I'm short but that was one tall Goofy!!
It was about 7 when we finished seeing the characters. We walked over and tried our favorite soda from Club Cool. We were tired and though it was a little early to get a spot for Illuminations we went ahead and plopped ourselves down somewhere in the shade to rest, people watch and to wait for Illuminations. We had a good time people watching and even had a bird walk right up to us (we did think it was going to attack us though!) and then around 8:30, 30 mins before show time, that is when we saw it.
The sky was totally clear except one little spot, one little cloud, but that one cloud was producing lightning. It looked like it was just heat lightning but there was quite a bit of it. We were worried they were going to cancel it (though we knew it would only be for our safety). Every time they came over the speakers to say things like "Only 30 mins... Only 20 mins" ect, we thought they were going to say it was postponed.
We had a little bit of pixie dust sprinkled on us though because literally 5 mins before the start it stopped. No more lightning! Which is good because even though I thought it was just heat lightning, I'm not a fan of being outside in it! Florida is the #1 state for people being struck by it lol.
The show went off without a hitch and went wonderfully. Here is a picture. I have a short video clip of it too, but haven't uploaded it yet.
Then we fought the crowds and drove home, it actually wasn't bad getting out we got home around 10:15 with Illuminations starting at 9 (ending around 9:20ish), so not too bad on traffic. It took us about 40 mins to get home instead of 30.
We went to TL yesterday as well as DQ for a short time and I will give a report from that soon. Tomorrow we are heading to MGM (Sorry DHS). Matt is REALLY excited about this park. Then we are doing AK Thursday. We wanted to experience all of the parks before I start work on this upcoming Monday, kind of like a little mini vacation before we start our new jobs.
