We are currently signed up for the Thriller Powerboat Ride in Nassau and I have to admit that I'm a little hesitant about it. My husband and I have two boys, ages 11 and 7. How thrilling is this? I've read of people getting knocked out of the Banana Boat Ride on Castaway Cay; how does this compare? I'm thinking of seeing Atlantis instead. Thanks for your comments.

I would go to Atlantis instead...the kids will love the aquarium, lagoon, rope bridge, lazy river, shark show, snorkeling, etc. I would be worried about the 7 year old so much I wouldn't enjoy it if I were in your shoes.
Also there is alot of coral in that area and you really need a great captain, I just wouldn't risk it.
No matter what you do have a great trip!

We've done both the Thriller Powerboat and the Banana Boat and they are nothing alike. In the Thriller Powerboat you are inside a jet boat with seats and handles to hold onto, completely comfortable. On the Banana boat you're straddling something and holding on to a tiny rope being pulled by a jet ski and you get salt water in your eyes, nose, and mouth. I loved the Thriller Powerboat, but I don't think you'd get me back on a Banana Boat! :thumbsup2

We tried to do the Thriller on one trip, but there were problems, and it was cancelled at the last minute. I forget what we opted for instead, but it looked like a blast. I'm a musclecar guy, and it seemed like just the thing for me.

I had a blast on the Thriller too. It's basically a high-powered jet boat that does a bunch of high-speed manuevers. You definitely won't fall out, but it's a lot of fun.

I thought my 6 & 7 year old rollercoaster fans would love it, they like speed. BUT, turned out it was too fast for them. The 7 year old cried the whole time and yelled at the driver to slow down. The younger one didn't cry but didn't really enjoy it. There wasn't the "Whoa, this is cool!" comments I'd expected. I would wait until your youngest is 11 based on our experience.
