I have high blood pressure (I take 2 medications which keep it under control), and just this morning found out that I have a heart murmur due to a leaking heart valve.

"Back in the day" when I was younger, there was NO ride that I wouldn't ride! But now that I'm older, wiser, and have health issues, I realize I need to be careful now.

I already know that Mission:Space would be too intense for me to ride. But how do you compare Expedition: Everest in the grand scheme of rides??? I *really* want to go on EE next month, but with the recent sad news about the woman dying a day after riding M:S, I've begun to wonder....

For point of reference, I've ridden RockNRollercoaster with absolutely NO problems, and loved the ride. However, I haven't ridden it in a few years, and this was before I had high blood pressure, and before I knew about my heart valve problem.

Also, I think I'd be totally fine on rides such as Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain. I don't think they pack the same punch as some of the other thrill rides.

While I realize that I'm asking regular people for this advice (Before our trip, I will give my doctor a call to see what he recommends), I know that many of you have ridden all of these rides and can put them in perspective for me.

So please let me know how you rate the various thrill rides at the Disney parks. Thanks! :sunny:

I certainly can't say whether a ride would be OK for someone with health concerns, but having ridden EE 6 times a couple weeks ago, I would say it is less intense than RnR. I'd put it somewhere in between BTMRR and Space, although for me, much more fun than any of those rides.

I don't think Everest is intense at all. The big drop is similar to Splash Mountain, so if you can handle that one, you should be fine on Everest. Now, the part where the ride goes backwards was VERY disorienting to me. I don't get motion sickness on rides ever but that was almost too much for me. I'd heard people mention that it almost felt like they were going upside down and I found that to be very true! It didn't last long at all though. I'm pretty much a ride wimp - (I'll ride anything at Disney but I avoid the big coasters at Universal) - and I enjoyed Everest very much!

I was wondering the same thing. Glad someone asked. What about Tof T?
I know I can't handle RNRC. DDs went on that and they are much younger than me and said it was real intense.

Personally I would consult your Dr before doing any rides. Just to be on the safe side!!:thumbsup2

Most definitely consult your DR. before making any decisions!!! Also read the ride warnings when you get there. They put them there for your safety!
