Thrifty rental car

Just got a great rate with Thrifty for a summer rental July 11 through the 14th. With no Saturday night stay it was hard to find a cheap rate. Just wondering if anyone has has good/bad experiences with this company. I know they are off airport, but I am just traveling with one daughter on this trip so it doesn't seem like a big deal. I got a standard size car for $20.49 per day

We used Thrifty last June. Our experience was ok, but nothing to rave about. The lines to pick up and drop off were long. I also don't like the fact that you have to go back to wait in line when you drop off your car. I am used to Hertz and Avis where you are met by an attendant at the car return who gives you a receipt and sends you on your way. You may want to consider signing up with their Blue Diamond Program. It is not nearly as user friendly as the Hertz or Avis programs (you still need to wait in line, although it is a shorter line), but it speeds up the process and costs nothing to join.......steve c

Thanks Steve for your input. I don't like the idea of standing back in line when I return the car. I usually rent with Dollar and it is so easy returning the vehicle.

We've rented with Thrifty a couple of times when I couldn't get something via Priceline. The line wasn't long either time, and the shuttle was very prompt and fast. I don't remember standng in line a second time to return the car. Since we plan to use them again when we can't get a good Priceline rate, I joined their Blue Chip club to skip the counter. It's free to join, and they mail you a coupon for 10 percent off your first Blue Chip rental.
