I made a res yesterday w/Thrifty @ very attractive rate (beating National's rate by $80).

I've never booked thru Thrifty before, used the OCVB code 004m001010, for what i thought was free additional driver (note the rate w/o the code wasn't any lower than pricing it out without it).

When checking the confirmation today, i didn't see the additional driver fee waiver listed:confused: so i called them & was told it only applies to standard sized & up vehicles:rolleyes:

any other general purpose codes floating about that anybody knows of that would provide the additional driver on an intermediate or Lock Low promo...or did CS agent mis-speakpopcorn::?

I have one made with Thrifty with the same codes but it's a minivan. Hope the free additional driver is included with that one. I 'll have to call and see.
I hate it the Alamo and National are still so high.

for quotes i've gotten, if the extra driver isn't included, for both thrifty & dollar, they are the same or more than what i found for National & Alamo:rolleyes:can't win lol

I called Thrifty and the additional driver was included for the minivan. :)

I'm using Thrifty and rented a midsize for next week. I was just reviewing my reservation and at the top it says that code waives any additional driver fee. I can't change my reservation because it says the coupon code I used can't be used now and my rate would double. If they give me a problem I'm going to show them where it says that and it does not say on standard size and up.

it doesn't state it on my confirmation

i went back to site (after reading ur post:thumbsup2) and on page before final booking it does state near the top of page

"...corporate rate includes: any applicable additional driver fees..."

:confused3im not a lawyer, yet it appears to state that additional driver would be covered.

now im wondering if thrifty CS rep i spoke to mis-spoke...although she did put me on hold & checked with supervisor.:headache:

Good luck, please post back & let us know if u had to argue the point.:wizard:

Sorry I confused the corporate rate with a membership rate.

The question isn't if the corporate rate you booked includes an additional driver, the question is if you're employed by that corporation and if the rate can be used for leisure rentals.

Actually in this case that is not the question. Dollar and Thrifty often provide corporate codes that are used for 'membership' organizations. The requirements for this code are that you have a copy of the free Orlando Magicard. Technically you have to be a non resident of Orlando but I have never heard of that being enforced.

In regards to the additional driver waived fee - nowhere does it state that this is valid for only for a standard vehicle and up. On the magicard promotion page and on the Thrifty site the offer states it waives additional driver fees. This code has been around for a couple of years and I have never heard of anyone having this issue before. Good luck and I hope you do not have any trouble - a link to the magicard offer is here:
