Thrifty Blue Chip?

anyone ever use Thrifty Blue Chip??? Is it worth it?

It was so worth it for me when i used them in March, since I needed to get to the Yankees game at Disney. When I walked out of the airport to get on the shuttle bus, I was asked if i was a Blue Chip member and they took my name. I walked in the office, went to the Blue Chip counter, the rep had my contract already, all I had to do was sign & I was out of there. They even upgraded me to a compact from an economy! So I would advise signing up for their program, especially since it's FREE!!!

whats the downfall though .. must be something or everyone would use them

I've never seen a downfall. I think some people just don't want to be bothered, especially if they don't rent very frequently. Another perk, besides the reduced line, is that they don't bug you about buying insurance and they sent us a 10% coupon along with our membership card. We've gotten gree upgrades, too, but we've also gotten that when we weren't Blue Chip members, so that's probably just the luck of the draw.

Love the service in both Orlando and Tampa. Never a problem, my car is always ready and waiting and its sign and drive - no line.

People are afraid of offsite rentals.

People also dont like the give out credit card and driver license info - this is required to be BlueChip - all your info is done at membership time.

hmmm. I also know some of them put "hold" on your CC more than your rental, you ever run into that?

And how far is it to be shuttled ? For a 7pm flight, what time would you get

Its a 5 minute ride, maybe 10 at the most. I always arrive 2 hours before the flight. I think it really depends what airline your traveling and if you have your boarding passes printed out.

All car rentals put a 'hold' on your credit card for the duration of your rental. It may vary with the duration and/or car rental company. You should call them and ask them that question directly.
