Thrift Shop score!

Our girls ages 5 and 4 asked for a doll house for Christmas this year. On the way home we passed by a thrift shop which had a Little Tykes Grand Mansion out front for $4.99, needless to say we picked it up! While it is unfurnished it has all of the structiral components except the front door, which is no biggie. All we have to do is clean it up and purchase furnature. The savings on the house means more for $ for furnature Plus all the reviews on the house that we ahve read are really good.

We're loking at both Melissa and Doug and Fisher Pirce Loving Family furnature. Any reviews on those?

When my dd was young, she had the Loving Family dollhouse and tons of furniture. It was great quality and they had lot's of selection. We have kept it to give to her kids eventually.

Check ebay for a replacement front door and a lot of furniture. Toys R Us sometimes runs a special on the Fisher Price sets close to the holidays so watch the flyers!

Love, love, love our Loving Family furniture. It gets an A+ from my kids who play hard with it all the time and have never broken a single piece--a miracle in my book1

Contact little tykes about a replacement door, should be able to get it for very little.

Another vote for the Loving Family furniture. My girls love it- there are so many cute sets! WalMart has rollbacks on them sometimes.
