Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Happy Sunday Everyone

Not including my DH and DD22, who both have K names…..

#1 - KINDLE - I absolutely love my Kindle. I never travel without it since I read when I go to bed at night.

#2 - KEYCHAIN - I have a keychain that I had made 15 years ago, with my store logo on it. I love this and I’m so grateful I had it made. I will carry it with my keys forever or until it breaks. It’s my daily reminder how I was a small business owner once, which was one of my greatest life accomplishments.

#3 - KNEE REPLACEMENT - I’m looking forward to getting mine in 3 1/2 months. I’m so ready. I was always told that I will know when I’m ready, and I know what that means now. 7 years ago, when I was told both knees need to be replaced, I thought I’d never be ready - I now know how wrong I was, but back then I wasn’t mentally ready. I am mentally ready now, and if it wasn’t for our WDW trip in May, I’d get that new knee tomorrow.

Kid sister....10 years younger....she has kept me 60 years younger

Kattela avenue or is it street... anyhow....has kept us all as kids

And in salute to today...."here's looking at you kid".... my last business partner called me kid... what a future we had ahead of us... alas.. being a kid gives us dreams

Afternoon all,

Symmetry
I'm going for my favourite symmetrical shapes for this, although I'm a little ocd so do love symmetry in general.

1. 5 pointed star - for some reason this has always been my favourite shape/symbols and I go mad for anything star shaped or patterned. My first tattoo was of a small star.

2. Infinity symbol - after the star, the infinity symbol is my next favourite shape and I have a few items of jewellery with this on, as well as another tattoo (this one is Disney/Pixar related too though)

3. Manchester Bee - this is a symbol of my home city, and it has quite a history dating back to the 1800s. It's seen quite a resurgence since the Arena attack too and is something I feel quite proud to display in my home and even on my car.

The Letter K

1. Kindle - another vote for this, something I couldn't live without especially when travelling and storing hundreds of books.

2. Key Lime Pie - this is my mums favourite dessert and as it's mother's day today in the UK, I've made this for her and I love it too!

3. Kitchen - another vote for this. Wouldn't be able to bake or cook without my trusty kitchen and having had a new one installed a few years ago, I know what it's like to try and battle through not having a kitchen for a couple of weeks, which made me appreciate having one more.

Symmetric items
Rate up my field I like things to be balanced when they’re not it throws me off kilter
Another vote for the Ikea hot plate the cork ones I absolutely love these things I use them for all kinds of things so I had one come up missing I spent a year looking for I finally found it it drove me absolutely insane that I had an odd number out I wasn’t in balance
Flowers 🌼 I will try to get flowers that are exactly the same size and shape for each side of my door I want them to look exactly the same it’s impossible to get them exactly but I try to get them as close as possible
One thing I was find interesting is human faces how uncertain families you will see the genetics play out that is like identical write down the line my grandma mom daughter they could all pass us the same person I have that in my family I have an aunt my mother myself my daughter there’s just like one of us in every generation that if you looked at the baby pictures the young kid pictures you’d swear it’s the same person the similarities are so close that you can’t tell us apart

#2 - NECKLACE AND EARRING SET - It’s black & white and I may be wearing both items today.

#3 - MY MOM’S PIANO - The piano is black with black & white keys. Lots of great memories of listening to my mom play it, and me taking piano lessons and practicing on it.

Well, I'm behind. It's been a busy weekend. I'd just like to note that from Friday's topic and the mention of glitter...there is now glitter all over the house. I may have gone a little overboard with glittering myself. 🤣 🤣

Symmetrical
Pants/Running leggings- I've had the misfortune of buying a few cheap pairs that weren't well cut/measured, so they were a bit off when wearing them. Made them uncomfortable and increased odds of chafing.
Shoes- While everyone's feet are a bit different, the shoes that you put on them should be mirror images and look symmetrical when your feet are together. I looked at my feet a lot this weekend.
Glasses- It was bright and sunny both days and I needed sport sunglasses for both.

K
DD19- She actually goes by her middle name, which is a K name.
Kugel- It's a casserole style dish among people of eastern European Judaic backgrounds. I prefer potato kugel but my great grandmother was known for her lokshen kugel, which is kind of like bread pudding with egg noodles. DD19 is home and wants me to make some Judiac foods for her friends. So, guess what I'm going to try and make today!
Knees- When you see how many people need knee replacements, I'm happy (at least for now) to have two healthy knees.

Black/White-Soft/Fluffy
Dog during yesterday's race - I was really starting to struggle yesterday between miles 11 and 12...or if you want to see it in big picture...around the 24.5 mile point on the weekend. This woman (non-racer) entered the trail with this beautiful black and white - majorly fluffy - dog. I put it around 130 pounds and was some kind of Great Pyrenees mix. It just got me happy and gave me to bump to push harder.
My shirt on Saturday - My tank for the Saturday race was black and white. It had a silly graphic with a little ghost holding a bone...it said "I find this humerus." It makes me giggle and a lot of people engaged with me during the race saying they loved it. So, grateful for something fun that invites cheery interaction.
Voo- Our current dog was all black...minus maybe 5-6 random white pieces of fur but as she gets older, she get more white in her coat. In fact, because she's all black, I'm seeing it in places I never knew dogs would get white fur as they age. The funniest...the fur between her pads on her paws.

Afternoon all,

Well today I'm going for black & white and soft & fluffy, with a post dedicated to the black & white pets I've had:

1. Church - one of my current cats who is technically black & white (plus a bit of grey)
