Happy HUMP DAY Friends

I like yellow - such a happy color.

#1 - Emojis - I love using emojis in texts

#2 - Sun - I’m always grateful to see the Sun and sunshine. Living in NW Indiana we have a lot of cloudy days, especially in the winter.

#3 - Bananas - I eat a lot of bananas since it’s one of the only fruits I can have with my UC

Yellow is definitely a happy color for me, too, dear WDWEPCOT.

Memories of loving Cheerios as a kid in its yellow box. When I was in college I had a yellow Cheerios T shirt.

My bath towels are yellow. What an amazing blessing being able to shower again will be.

God willing dad and I will use our insulated yellow (and other colors) lunch bags at Disneyland this year.

Inventions-

Flat Irons - I'm about to use mine so I can make myself presentable to head into the office.
Kitchen Scales - The more I get back into weighing, the more I get to visualize what portion sizes really look like.
Lightweight TVs - I'm moving DD18 out of her dorm next week and I'm reminded of how happy I was that her big TV is light.

My Dress- I just bought a springy floral dress that gives vintage 80s skater vibes. The background is mustard yellow. Not my favorite shade, but it's yellow.
My Office Walls- My home office is painted bright canary yellow. It's so cheery!
Fun Vehicles- It is my dream to one day own a personal vehicle that is bright yellow. Of course, not every vehicle looks right in this color, so it'll be fun to see what my bright yellow retirement vehicle ends up being. (Please, do not say School Bus )

Yellow-bellied marmot ... One of my favorite animals to spot on trips to the western US, unfortunately they've been really scarce the last few trips!

Yellow skinned potatoes ... the red are okay, but I definitely prefer yellow!

Plantains ... so good along with some beans and rice!

We've noticed that as well. DD16 sometimes jokes that they're her spirit animal. We had a trip to RMNP in 2019 where they were everywhere. One spot, they were so plentiful that they were literally running over our feet. I haven't seen it that way since.

The movie and music from Yellow Submarine. My DGD asked to watch the video of that song over and over when she was 3 and it was adorable to hear her singing it.

Forsythias: I know they are such a common flower, but they are usually the first to bloom when it gets closer to spring.

Belle’s yellow dress during the ballroom scene. My daughter wore that costume one Halloween when she was around 6 years old. Plus, Belle is my favorite Princess.

May hug to all!

May is my birthday month and also God willing when I will go home and be back to normal.

On my street right around my birthday, jacaranda trees bloom purply pretty.

Warmer weather for sure and days, too.

End of the school year - It's not nearly the rat race it used to be but things are a little bit easier when school is out (in most cases) and traffic is better on the days when I do have to head into the office.

Memorial Day - While it's a somber holiday, it's always felt like kickoff to summer.

Work peace - Not that it's ever truly peaceful, but this is the last month of peace between October and June (the two months where my work life goes from crazy to how do I retain a shred of sanity?).
