Three Things...Gratitude Thread

DVC ❤️❤️❤️
Disney Cruises - shockingly so Alaska was my favorite by far and the weather was in the 80s even on top of the glacier but I love going to the islands one they’re just beautiful and they have beaches🏝️🏝️ And I believe by now you all know how I feel about Beaches ❤️❤️❤️
Disney Parks - I can’t speak enough how much I enjoy Parks - I enjoyed them when my kids were little I enjoyed them when my kids were adults I enjoy them without my kids even more it’s just extremely magical you escape from the world do I think there is good as they used to be no I’m sorry they’re not I wish they would go back to the way they were they used to be cleaner they cast members used to be a lot friendlier I’m not saying that all cast members or not I’m not saying that by far I’m just saying it used to be different but it’s still to me is enjoyable it’s just not as affordable as it used to be sorry to say my opinion only I feel like there nickel and dime in you to death and they are squeezing out people making or the every day person cannot afford to go and I find that really sad and quite frankly the cruises are getting to be a little bit ridiculously expensive and I find that really sad to there’s still deals to be found but it’s hard to find a deal to go to the Parks you have to really work at that one but I’m still grateful for them because I do think they’re very magical and I do still love them

Good Morning Again

@PollyannaMom - I’m sorry to hear you’re not feeling great. I’m feeling very 💩💩💩 too. Lots and lots of PD for both us to feel better soon :wizard:

I have lots of Disney things I’m grateful for.

#1 - All my Disney CDs - I think I’m going to buy a portable CD player for my car to play them in. I need some Wishes, SpectroMagic and Illuminations in my life.

#2 - All my Disney photos throughout the years - they really show how the parks have changed.

#3 - All my Disney Big Figs - I wish they still made them. I have an army of them :lmao:

Oh boy great idea❤️ I have so many CDs from Disney and I so miss listening to them and I don’t feel like trying to load them onto my phone yet again and dealing with Apple it’s such a pain in the butt and I probably have between DISNEY and the others over 100 and I would love to listen to them in my car what a great idea thank you you made my day❤️❤️❤️
I sure hope everyone feels better soon it must be going around I know so many people who have a cold I blame global warming🤣🤣🤣🤣

Let's do something a little different today (Sun, 11/19) - with Thanksgiving approaching, please share your gratitude traditions: does your family go around the table and say what they're thankful for, write things out on paper (or Jenga blocks), create a gratitude craft together?

Lets give each other ideas for the big day - things you've done before or things you plan to do this year all count, and pics are welcome if you're got 'em!

@PollyannaMom - I love your pictures! ❤️

We don’t do anything like that. My family isn’t into doing these type of things. I love my family, but they are kinda boring, I’d love to play games on holidays, but they wouldn’t do that either. I hope when DD20 gets married one day that her in-laws and family will be fun so we can do different holiday activities.

Our holidays go as follows….
Sit downstairs at DH’s bar
Have dinner
Discuss misc. topics after dinner (normally we’ve discussed these topics before)
Have dessert
Done

The holidays are very routine around here - LOL!

Omg I love playing games and my family wouldn’t do it either - growing up we used to do it all the time not just holidays I do miss it ! Cards / Board Games / every Saturday night was game night !!
On trips we would play cards on the plane or little travel size games
On the TA cruise we played cards every night before dinner in the lounge listening to live music
I read a book about WW2 and they used Board Games like monopoly to send to the prisoners in camps and in the board itself was maps ( part of the board but hidden and real money special for whatever country they were being held in and a compass to try and help the prisoners escape and give them the items they needed once they escaped to try to get to safety this was something that the United Kingdom (MI5) did and the Germans didn’t even know - it was very interesting to read about that and all that innovative ideas they came up with to try to help the prisoners

I look forward to seeing everybody else’s cute little ideas!!!

I hope when DD20 gets married one day that her in-laws and family will be fun so we can do different holiday activities.

These are the the parts of your posts I "liked" them for.

:hug:s on the fact that you don't get to do these things yet.

Such cute pictures and a great tradition! We've never done this on either side of our family (mine or DH's) and we've also never done this with our 5 person family.

One year my mom had us all go around the table and say something we were thankful for, but the kids were kind of embarrassed about it (felt put on the spot I think) so we never really did it again.

I'm also like you @slo in that I wished we played games and stuff more when we got together. We used to do that when the kids were younger - we played rummikub and yahtzee quite a bit. When we're with DH's family, we used to play Shanghai rummy in the winter months, but that's kind of fallen off as the family has grown bigger and there are too many kids around to focus much on a game it seems.

We don't have any family traditions. For about 10 years we'd go to DH's mom's home in Ohio. His 3 sisters and their families lived in the vicinity, and at least one of his 3 brothers and their families would come for Thanksgiving, too, as well as an uncle and a couple of close family friends, so going to Ohio was our tradition. That changed with time and now we just stay home. I can't imaging my family saying things they were grateful for, though.
