Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Nature things...
The changing colors of the leaves. It's truly glorious here in northern New England!
The ocean. Peace, serenity. Also boldly fierce. I wish I were sitting on the rocks, watching the majesty, right now.
The little guy who lives under our shed. Not sure if he's a groundhog or a wood chuck, or what, but he's adorable. He's roly-poly, waddles across the lawn, eats our dandelions so that our lawn always looks well-tended. It's so fun to watch him waddling around!

Orange things...
Syracuse University sports! We lived in Syracuse for 5 years while DH got his PhD and became big college sports fans. Syracuse's colors are orange and blue, and they are known as the Orangemen. OK, the mascot contends for the title of "Stupidest College Mascot" but the spirit is high. Sometimes Syracuse is a national contender (hoops, foot ball LAX, etc) and sometimes they aren't, but that's what being a fan is all about! GO ORANGE GO!!

Uncle Wally's Pig Pickin' Cake, which has a whole can of mandarin oranges in the cake. It's a great cake, especially for those of us who don't love chocolate, and it brings back wonderful family memories every time I make it.

My Animal Kingdom Lodge coffee mug, which has an orange handle and lid. I love my resort-specific mugs, and I'm always sad that Disney has sold out to the bottom line, swapping over to generic mugs for all resorts.

Orange Things:
1. Our school districts colors are black and orange so there’s a lot of orange in our community—everything from recycling bins to sports/band uniforms. My daughter has an all orange short sleeved jersey that is my favorite of all her uniforms.
2. Pumpkins
3. Orange peppers

Pumpkins 🎃- especially Halloween
Leaves changing colors especially the ones that are orange colors
Squash it’s a yellow orange color
I associate orange with fall and Halloween and Thanksgiving so when I think of orange I think of decorating for Halloween and jacking my halls for Thanksgiving turkey and apple pie trick-or-treating candied apples and things like that that’s what orange means to me

Orange was a favorite color of a special late friend Dean.

I'm not a fan at all of traditional Halloween. I do enjoy orange for Autumn/new season.

Dad enjoys fresh squeezed🍊 juice.
I have an orange 👕

When I was little and enjoyed eating candy, I loved Brach's 🎃shaped candy corn. I felt those just tasted sweeter than the traditional triangular candy corn!

Ah yes, reminds me of my orange painted kitchen cabinets growing up! We had a small kitchen fire, and I wondered if my mom did it just so she'd have to get new kitchen cabinets 🤣🤣

That’s how we got a new kitchen and I really think my mom did it on purpose! Not kidding! Omg I swear that woman was color blind ! Plus she put carpet in the kitchen ! Who does that ??? Hideous yellow with this green in it pattern - clashed with the orange shag 🤣🤣 harvest gold appliances and burnt orange counters 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Good Morning!

This is such a perfect topic for me since I’m going out to breakfast with my mom after my colonoscopy this morning.

*side note…I love going out to breakfast. we don’t do it very often since it’s so darn expensive, but when we do, I love it. My DH is an exceptional breakfast maker, so he’s a great substitute for going out,

#1 - I’m grateful for pancakes - I love love love pancakes - I can eat an enormous and embarrassing amount of them - LOL! My DH will make them for me, but they aren’t the same as restaurant ones.

#2 - I’m grateful for extra crispy hash browns - my DH tries to get them crispy, but a restaurant gets them crispier.

#3 - I’m grateful for frittatas - they are awesome - especially ones that have gravy on them. They scream nothing but fat and calories, but I don’t care - once a year is ok to have one.
