Three Things...Gratitude Thread

DD is an advocate of re-useable straws, and while I'm not, the skinny little brush that comes with the straws is great for cleaning a whole bunch of small things.

I have a small, flat, vinyl flashlight. It has a contact button that you hold to turn the light on, and it has a magnet in it. It live on the fridge, so when the lights go out I always know where the flashlight is- and can use it to find the "real" flashlights.

I love the plastic toothpicks that have a U-shaped end that holds floss. I find them MUCH easier to use than regular floss, and always keep several in my wallet, backpack, car, etc.
I carry one of those flashlights in my purse.

Do you ever wonder why almost every parking lot has one of the flossers tossed in it? So gross. Lol

There was a thread once on weird things you’ve seen at WDW - mine was a grown woman & her grown daughter tweezing someplace I’m not going to say so I won’t get kicked off the DIS at the Pool - not kidding 😳😳😳 just chatting away tweezing away omg omg - yup I said something and yup it didn’t go over well and no they didn’t stop - couldn’t find any Cast Members anywhere - I left and took my family with me - so yes people do some strange things a lot of times
Like the coworker trimming her toenails at her desk - we all sat 2 ft apart 🤮🤮🤮 ah no do that at home please
Coworkers shaving their legs in bathroom sink - yup - please don’t - again do this at home
A homeless woman wander in our building bathroom at work / stripped naked - did her laundry & colored her hair and hung out in there for hours - she pretty much took over the bathroom and claimed it as hers ! We weren’t even in the city area we were in the county in high end business district ! But there was a hospital not far from us - she was a very confused woman it was kind of sad - I believe the police took her to the hospital
So yes people do some strange things at times that make you scratch your head and go - they did what ??

Good Thursday Morning!

#1 - I’m grateful for roller skating at the roller rink when I was in middle school and younger HS years - so much fun - the music, the black lights, the cafeteria the little store with cool skate accessories (Pom poms for your skates) were all so fun then.

#2 - I’m grateful for home parties that don’t happen by me anymore - Tupperware, Pampered Chef and etc - all a lot of fun.

#3 - I’m grateful for my old waterbed - I never hear of anyone having them anymore. We loved our waterbed 20 years ago. It was a limited motion waterbed and it was so awesome and in the winter it was so nice and warm. When we moved in 2004 we didn’t take it with us - we decided to get a Sleep Number bed and our buyer was more than happy to keep it for their teenage son.

Long-gone

Cardboard records you cut from the back of cereal boxes. I was amazed they played.
I'm intrigued by this one.

1. Famous-Barr French onion soup - we didn't eat out much when I was a kid, but if we were in the next town over shopping on Saturday, we'd sometimes eat lunch at Famous-Barr and I thought they had the best French Onion Soup!

2. Making funny voices into box fans - we were just talking about how we all did this at my grandma's house!

3. I'm copying @eksmama01 with the prizes in cereal boxes. The box would always be bent out of shape trying to dig for the toy! My sister and I also would take all of the marshmallows out of the Lucky Charms box and eat them first!

Remember when they started putting it between the box and the bag? Easier, but not as much fun!!

Oh, and sis and I would talk through the air conditioning registers!

Oooooh, this one is hard!

1. I miss the little triangular vent windows that cars used to have. It was just big enough to open for some fresh air, the angle would blow the air on you, but it was small enough so you didn't get your socks blown off when it was open.

2. Drive-in movies, especially when they charged by the car-load; I had a VW bus and boy could we stack people in there!

3. Old fashioned formulations/recipes for things like Devil Dogs, Twinkies, cereals, etc. The newer formulations are all about fillers and texturizers and whatever. Even though this was junk food, they used to be reasonably good. Now? Most of these are just 'sweet and squoosh.'
