Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Pink:
1. Peonies—my favorite flower and most of mine are shades of pink.
2. Lipstick/gloss—mine all have pinkish tones to them.
3. My phone case and my apple watch band are both pink and the color makes me happy. I change out the band fairly often but my phone case is always pink.

:grouphug:Good Morning Friends, Happy Friday, too. I have so enjoyed all of your shares yesterday, thank you :)

Pink has always been my favorite color as in light pink, budding carnations, which are my favorite flower. When I was younger and enjoyed eating more sugar, I also loved fresh spun in my sight, not prepackaged, (yuck), pink cotton candy and pink (no white) peppermint stick ice cream. I remember a couple times only enjoying so much at a small town's local homemade ice cream shop, peppermint fudge, wonderful! I'm not a strong mint flavor fan. Other not pink, but, still mint memories were as a kid and young adult, Thrifty's green mint n chip, with melty flakes not hard chips, and when I would visit my grandma and other family in Houston during the 90's and we would go to Marble Slab Creamery, creamy milk chocolate colored fudgy mint ice flavor that was amazing. Not pink but related to mint :)

True pink sunrise especially on Easter Sunday.

Minty, a loyal stuffed animal rabbit I still have.

Of course, pink, brings to mind ::MinnieMo

Extra hug, from me, too, Leebee! Eksmama, prayers, your daughter is enjoying a happier Summer!

@leebee—been thinking of you—how are you feeling? Hope you are comfortable and relieved the surgery is behind you!
I've been happier. This is day 2 after the surgery, and any anesthetic, nerve block, etc that they used for pain control has worn off. I couldn't sleep at all last night, even with the codeine. I know this will only last a day or so, and then things will improve daily, but right now it's demoralizing and, not to sound like a baby, it hurts. Thank you for thinking of me, though. It's very comforting to think of all the "friends" we've made, here on the DISboards.

I'm so sorry you are in pain. I will be praying!

I think you are probably spot on in thinking it will get better from here on out. My husband had a fairly significant knee injury and subsequent surgery a few years ago. The meds weren’t touching his pain the first few days and he called the doctor’s office and they increased his recommended pain med doses for a day or two. If you can’t sleep it might be worth a phone call. He was reluctant to use anything (was very afraid of getting addicted), but truly seemed to need more for a short time just to be comfortable.

Wishing you all the best in your recovery.

Confetti Pink Moscato

My pink soccer league shirt we all had made for one of our players we lost to breast cancer-ironically my oncologist was her husband(I didn't meet him until many years later, and had no idea until we got to talking and we both made the connection)

Flamingos-especially the babies

PInk -

1. It's my youngest niece's favorite color - she loves pink clothes - says they're all "preppy" (whatever that means lol)
2. The pink journal my kids got for me
3. We have a lady in town that drives a pink "mary Kay" car - every time I see her in it, it makes me smile. Not a car I would want to drive really, but it's unique and fun!

Aw, that is adorable, PollyannaMom! Also reminds me that I once had the Snoopy pictured below until I gave it to a friend as an adult. Dad and I are looking forward to A Charlie Brown Christmas this weekend :)

Newski_mom, there used to be a lady in my neighborhood who had pink hair that we would often see. I don't remember whether she also drove a pink car.

The bunny wishing all of dear you, sweet dreams, looks a little like my Minty. I'll take her picture tomorrow 🐰

It's officially "Summersgiving"!

I had no idea this holiday existed until I looked at one of those calendar websites this morning, so I'm not really prepared, but I just had to spread the word here for the future.

It's the first Saturday after the Summer Solstice every year - a chance to get together with whomever you want and eat bonus Thanksgiving foods. 😃

And it's a great category inspiration -

Today's Topic (Sat, 6/24) - 3 holiday foods you're grateful for (any holiday, not just this one)

Holiday foods:

- the Thanksgiving combo of turkey, gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and dressing/stuffing. Yum!! There is a local sandwich spot, that sells a Thanksgiving-style sandwich that has all of the Thanksgiving goodness on a sub roll (minus the potatoes). It's not my go-to as it's rich, but it is delicious!

- Christmas cookies. We've been making the same recipe since I was a little girl. Shortbread style with icing and sprinkles.

- Birthday cake!

I second birthday cake!

Cheese Balls - I make them for Thanksgiving, and sometimes for Easter too (egg-shaped, of course .)

My mom's no-bake chocolate cookies - They became a "holiday" food for a specific annual cookout some family friends hold. I cannot show up without them. (Notice I'm not complaining about that, because I love any excuse to make them!)

Bonus from DH - Pea Casserole! (It's like the green bean one, only better.)
