Three Things...Gratitude Thread

(Mon, 5/15) - 3 things you're grateful for in your town/city/neighborhood
1. The Main Street area near my house. It's a historic Main Street with all sorts of fun little shops and restaurants and fun events throughout the year. I don't go nearly as often as I should
2. The rec center where I go swimming
3. The library system! The libraries are beautiful and well maintained, and have so many options. I'm biased, but I think it's one of the best library districts in the country.

(Tues, 5/16) - 3 creative things you're grateful for
1. Music
2. Books
3. Musical/theatrical productions, especially when I get to be on stage in them! I haven't been on stage for one in years, but I really do enjoy it when I get the chance!

(Wed, 5/17) - 3 things you're grateful for beginning with "SN"
1. Snacks
2. Snuggles with stuffed animals and puppies (and now I seriously want some puppy hugs!)
3. Snoopy (Sorry. I just HAD to steal answer when I saw it!)
Snow really everyone ? What’s up with all this snow love ??? Ugh being snarky but not feeling it -
Hey, look! I avoided using that word just for you. :) And also... with SN being the theme was "snarky" intentional?

(Thur, 5/18) - 3 things you're grateful for beginning with FR
1. France -- I know three families/individuals in France who are serving as missionaries, and I love every one of them!
2. Baby Frowns -- The confused/unsure ones. Not the really unhappy ones. But... Baby frowns are just adorable when they aren't actually in distress.
3. Fridays
(Bonus: Friends!)

my current car - nicest one I’ve ever owned !!
My first car - it was ALL mine - bought with MY money only !!

The first Brand New car I ever owned ! ❤️❤️ up to my current car it was the best ! I ordered it just the way I wanted it !!! Madly in love with it for the many years I owned it !
On average I keep my vehicles at least 10+ years so I’ve not owned very many - unlike my kids I don’t name my cars
I do try to always garage park them and I do keep them clean inside & out !
Side note - I hate driving - ever since my horrible accident decades ago I just hate driving - I’d be perfectly happy never doing it again or riding in a car either - I try to never do road trips as I can’t stand being in a car for long periods of time and will fly every chance I get . One reason I feel blessed I can work from home 4 out of 5 days a week and not have to commute 45 mins one way to work

Cars

1. My first I got at 16. A 1988 Honda Accord. Drove the you know what out of it.

2. We've owned probably at least 15 Hondas of every model lol. Loved them all. We just don't keep cars long.

3. We had an old Toyota japanese style van in Japan. You could prop your feet on the engine (?) behind the drivers seat until your heels got hot.

My first car was a white Ford Mustang. I'm not sure what year the car was, but I got it in 1990, the summer after my freshman year in college. I loved that car! It was not a fancy one and was probably about 7 or 8 years old, but I loved it!

Probably the next one would be a used Grand Prix DH and I bought. I wasn't a great car (was decently old with lots of miles), but I loved that car too!

Finally, my current car which is a 2015 Toyota Highlander. We bought it new and I still love it. DH has gotten 2 new trucks since I've gotten my car, but I still love it - has around 136,000 miles, but still going strong!

Zamboni, I know odd choice, but they make me so stinking happy to see & I really want to drive one, looks fun.
Golf cart, again I know, silly choice but I want one of these too but I don't want to have to golf to use it, I want it to be like a go kart.
Monster Trucks, only saw them ones at farming festival but the drivers looked like they were having a blast.

Vehicles…
1. Current car we own…just purchased a new 2023 Kia Sportage XPro…love it!
2. My first car…1982 Chevy Chevette…oh the fun I had with that car! Loved being a teen in the 80s!
3. Not sure of the year or make… in the 70s, the station wagon my parents owned. Yearly family road trips to the Jersey shore and the gulf coast of Florida to visit grandparents…sleeping in the back with my younger sister, riding in the rear facing back seat, no seat belts, doing the universal sign to get truckers to honk…great memories!

Vehicles:
1. My first company car. It was a Chevy Corsica—nothing great, I wasn’t even the first employee to have that vehicle, but I was 23 years old, first real job out of college and felt like I was going to be all right when they handed me those keys.
2. Ford Taurus—another company car—several after the Corsica, but the first new one—I drove it off the lot and selected the color.
3. Toyota Highlander—my current vehicle. It’s a 2013 with 146,000 miles and it’s my favorite vehicle ever. It’s been reliable (knock on wood), a good size for our family, I love how it drives, has great pick up, goes in bad weather (and more importantly stops), and I like how it looks. DH wants to get 200,000 miles out of it. I will be sorry to see it go whenever it goes. It was a dealer model so had a few thousand miles on it when we bought it.

Mine first car was a Honda Civic—it was an 81 or 82. I didn’t drive it long before getting a company vehicle, but my sister drove it for years. She was in school in Arizona and my parents shipped it from Pennsylvania.

I love my Highlander too. I might get another one, but hoping to be empty nesters by then so might go to a RAV-4. My dad has one and likes it.

I was thinking about a RAV4 next too. My DD26 got her first new car last year and got a Toyota Corolla - the dealer said it would last her for 20 years if she took care of it. She told him she didn't know if she'd want to still be driving it when she was 45 :rotfl:

(Fri. 5/19) - 3 vehicles you are/have been grateful for
1. The yellow station wagon we had when I was a kid. We called it "The Yellow Banana" or "The Banana" for short. So many great family trips in that vehicle!
2. The first car I owned, a Chevy Lumina which I named "Luna." I don't remember what year it was.
3. My current car, a 2015 Toyota Camry named Olaf.

Another Honda fan here! Current and 2 prior all Hondas!

Love your :car:share Allison Joy! Now, of course, I want to see an actual banana on wheels, lol.

How I miss the Disneyland People Mover. I loved that ride and have hoped it would somehow come back over the years. Glad those of you able to go to WDW can still enjoy it.

Dad's current car, a Honda Fit, I am especially grateful for these days as God uses it to keep dad safe while out. The same with my older, 2016 Nissan Versa when he takes it out so it's not constantly just parked.

In the future, I would love to take flight with :dumbo:and of course when thinking of flying animals, I also have to be grateful for :santa:' s🦌!

🙏for safe and fun, healthy, travels to all!

I love mine! It's very comfortable to drive, and I love having all that cargo space when we need it.

I'm also thankful for -

DH's Prius (which makes me feel better about the big car, because we save so much gas when we can take the little one.)

Airplanes - so I can get to far away places quickly. 😃
