Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Good Morning everyone:flower2:

I love and agree with all your answers. Thank you always for sharing and keeping this kind, safe, and supportive thread going.

1 All of U.

2 On a rainy day here (so thankful that dad and I can stay in the home we are blessed to have), umbrellas.

3 A friend whose last name starts with a U.

Good Morning :)

I loved playing hopscotch as a kid, Eksmama. I even had an indoor yellow hopscotch mat. I've never skipped stones but that always brings me a smile to imagine pooh:and his friends playing Poohsticks which I envision as similar :)

1 When I think of "Rocks," I think of my faith.

2 When I was younger I enjoyed collecting rocks from the beach and even touristy or retail places.

3 Cement and stone walkways that make safe pathways for pedestrians both in daily life and in fun places such as DL::MickeyMo

Stone/cement:
1. We have a cement patio below our deck. I love it there and the cement has weathered so much better than the wood deck.
2. Cement birdbath—I enjoy watching the birds splash about.
3. Fireplace—ours is stone and one of my favorite features about our house.

1. The rocks in our landscape - I love the look of mulch, but we just don't have the time (or desire) to keep it up, so we used landscape rock throughout.

2. The addition we made to our driveway. We just built a house last year and shortly after moving in, we discovered that our driveway was not wide enough to easily get the cars in and out if more than 2 cars were home. We made the decision to widen it and everyday when I back out, I am thankful that we made the decision to do that.

3. Our parking lot at work. We have lots of heavy equipment in and out of our lot regularly, so we have to rock our lot every year. The materials now available are so much better than they used to be (even just 5-6 years ago). We used to have the worst dust storm for weeks after doing it each year and now, we don't have that issue at all. I'm so grateful for how nice it is now!

Had a busy day yesterday and forgot to come back to post. Grateful for:

Sidewalks where people chalked fun and encouraging things for each other during the pandemic

Short stone walls I used to enjoy walking on like a balance beam as a kid.

And another vote for pets' pawprints.

That I grew up having an Ice cream man who would drive around just as the fireflies came out, one strawberry shortcake please!
That I spent some time in a place where we drank from the hose instead of going inside!
That I grew up in a time when we had time to make snow forts and have snowball wars in the neighborhood!

Today's Topic (Fri. 3/31) - 3 things you're grateful for about your childhood

Swimming lessons…learning to ride a bike..and learning about nature…These are special activities for me.

Growing up in my family, my religious traditions, and the fact that we lived next door to my maternal grandparents.

Meeting Beverly in kindergarten, a good friend for life.

Things I'm grateful for about my childhood:

That I grew up with both my grandmothers around, and even a great-grandfather that I was old enough to remember before he passed.

That I lived in a beautiful area of the country, and I got a lot of exposure to nature.

That I grew up before a lot of the technology we have today. As much as I do use it now, I'm still glad I know how to live without it. And I think it puts too much pressure on young people today.

And a bonus one, to go with the holiday inspiration - that I was always encouraged to be creative!
