Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Google - so very convenient to be able to look things up instantly

Gratitude itself - which I think is so important and really appreciate all of you sharing with me every day!!

Going on vacation 😎

I’m with you - I’d be extra super grateful for an inch or two 🤣🤣🙏🙏 highly doubt at my age I’m going to get it - I seem to be going in wrong direction 😢😡🤣🤣

Oh I wouldn’t take from you !! You don’t have any to give !! I have a friend over 6 feet tall she’s always complaining about being so tall - I am like I’d gladly take a few inches from you !!! We have a lot of similar problems obtaining clothes that fit - hers are too short mine too long 🤣🤣🤣

Today's Topic (Sat 2/25) - 3 Quiet Things You're Grateful For

God - He has to be #1. Just don't know where I would be without the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life.

Ginger & Garlic - two staples in our house that we use often in food
preparation

Girlfriends - Nothing like hanging out with your girlfriends and decompressing.

My Job - as much as I dread working I’m grateful so grateful for my job ! This one can be super herding cat roller coaster at times - BUT I have a lot of liberty and freedom I have never had in 40 years at any other job - I am the only employee allowed to work from home every day except one day a week - this was started long before Covid - my boss did this because of my neck injury so I would be more comfortable - we can be casual to an extreme - I can pretty much have any time off I request and my boss can be very generous - with that being said - my boss can also be very ( VERY ) temperamental and demanding with zero patience. Most days the good outweigh the bad 👍 But I Am grateful for the job because otherwise I’d be in really bad shape !!

My House - one of the first things I purchased for my house - sign that reads - Thankful Grateful - I’m so grateful for my house ! I love my house - it’s the best one I’ve ever lived in ever in my life and I adore my house !! It’s my private little shelter from the World !

Disney - yes I’m Grateful for WDW & Disney Cruiseline - I’m considering ALL of Disney a place as one thing - Disney holds so many great memories - some tied to horrible things that turned beautiful Thanks be to God ❤️🙏 but my life is tied to Disney and lots of wonderful memories over decades with my DDs / I’m so grateful to have those memories and don’t regret any of it !! I really hope to make more in the future !

Bonus - the Beach ! Y’all know how much I love the beach 🏝️ my dream is to have house on the beach as far away from that nasty ❄️❄️ as I can be 🤣🤣

It’s the start of the last days of February - time is going to fast :faint:

#1 - I’m grateful for the location of my home, along with my home. We live at the end of a dead end, next to a forest, it’s so nice - no traffic, quiet - it’s great!

#2 - I’m grateful for the City of Chicago. Even though the crime is insane, I love living close to this city. I have great memories of all the times my DH and I have gone downtown with and without our girls. I also like how my girls are familiar with being in a big city so they’ll never feel uncomfortable when traveling to other cities. My DD24 went downtown, with just a few friends, in 2015 (she was 16) for the Stanley Cup celebration. I wasn‘t nervous, because we took her to Chicago so much that she knew what to do. It’s a shame that the crime there is insanely bad now, but we still go, we just keep our eyes & ears open, pray we don’t get shot on the drive to & from (yes, this a possibility for those that don’t know) and are VERY aware of our surroundings.

#3 - I’m grateful for WDW. It’s the one place I’ve been going to almost my entire life - my first visit was in 1976 when I was 5 years old.

Three places

1 For this apartment that dad and I are blessed to have shelter in. I do keep in prayer our being able to one day move somewhere with safe heating, etc, but how blessed we are to have a roof over our heads. No complaints.

2 The small Chapel at church always was a special, quiet place for me to pray and spend extra time with God in.

Back after a hiatus, brought on by the sad news I shared a few weeks back, wrapping up WDW visit with my DS and catching up on all the February family birthdays that required a lot of me emotionally and socially. Back now and feeling better than I have in a while.

Three places

1. This virtual space. I've missed being among all of you.
2. My parents home. When they decided to sell the farm that was in our family for generations, I was devastated. Now that I see how relaxed they are in their home in the suburbs, I am thankful they have discovered a place of peace.
3. My birth country (USA). While we have many opportunities to grow and improve (IMHO), we also have an abundance of things right now for which we can be grateful.

My adult daughter with Down syndrome. The greatest person I have ever known

My friends I have a multitude of good, better and best. I couldn’t do without them.

My financial security. It allows us to live our best life and leave my daughter financially secure when we are gone.

I hope you had a lot of fun at WDW, L.K. Welcome, good to have you, back here :grouphug:

Cedricandsophie, :grouphug:to you also. I love your replies. Family and friends are to me such precious blessings from God. Grateful that you have such a loving family, including extended of friends, too.

Today's Topic (Mon 2/27) - 3 Places You're Grateful For

1. Home of course - My family home is my comfort place
2. Church - especially our Temples. Peace and quiet, good friends, and of course feeling the Holy Spirit.
3. Stores - I am grateful that I can go places and purchase what is needed for my family. We are close to several that I seem to be in weekly.
