Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Today's Topic (Fri 2/24) - 3 Collections You're Grateful For
1. Disney Christmas Ornaments - We buy one for the family each year, and one for DD to have a collection when she someday moves out. So fun to explore and examine each year as we decorate. Especially if it was a year with a trip, where we purchased at the Disney Christmas Store
2. Books - Love to read, and even though many of our books are now digital, grateful that I can just take them with me when I go. I should always be able to find something to read.
3. Scrapbooks - I use to scrapbook by hand, but now do so digitally. Love looking through the memories and reading the journaling I have done. Before kids, DH and I would journal any trip we did each night, and we included these in our scrapbooks. Great memories.

How could I forget photos?!? I used to scrapbook a lot as well, and really need to get back into it.

TGIF Everyone!!! :cool1:

#1 - I'm grateful for my large Precious Moments Collection. I started collecting these when I was about 16 years old, and many special people in my life bought them for me throughout the years. I have them beautifully displayed in curio cabinets in the my living room.

#2 - I'm grateful for my collection of photos, along with all the negatives, that are put away in photo boxes. They are alot of fun to look at.

#3 - I'm grateful for my Pinterest collections of recipes, gardening, motivational quotes, religious quotes and verses, workout tips and much much more. This is my own personalized library made just for me.

Collections:

1. I have a large collection of Department 56 pieces.
2. Ornaments—instead of t-shirts or things like that, I usually buy an ornament for the tree as a souvenir.
3. Black t-shirts—I am messy and spill stuff all the time. Black is more forgiving of my messes so I wear a lot of black t-shirts—long sleeve, short sleeve, scoop neck, v-neck etc

Hooray indeed and thanks to all of you for 100 pages of this wonderful thread! I truly am grateful to all of you for your kind and supportive shares. ITA with photos and also cards I've saved, too. Happy memories of time with those we care for and love is precious indeed.

Funny story - my previous job received a Government contract with US Army - talk about abbreviations - that’s all they did - it was like learning another language !! I was so lost for a few months had no clue what anyone was saying ! After awhile it became natural but man was it tough to start !! Everything was abbreviated or called something else ! I’ve gotten really good with Google looking things up thanks to this !! 🤣🤣

Collections:
my old stamp and coin collections. I should keep up with that better. My parents loved collectng coins, proof sets, and all of that

The International Santas my mom and I started collecting in the early 90s. We started by accident on after Christmas sale at Dillards. Everything was half price, and we just started grabbing stuff. Kept doing it for years. I put out those Santas every year.

and my ridiculous insane, still growing Star wars collections. I am one of those nuts who keeps the figures in the boxes, and I have hundreds. Our bonus room closet is completely full of Star Wars stuff, plus all the stuff on the walls and shelves. Lightsabers line the stairwels, and posters are all over, art prints, etc. etc.

Collections I’m grateful for:

Disney stuff. We have something in every room that we’ve gotten on trips that bring back such good memories. Of course some clothing, too, and pocketbooks, jewelry, and memorabilia, etc. DD wears perfume from the Norway pavilion. We have Disney soaps on display in our bathroom, lol. Disney feels like home to us as a family.

Dog stuff. I’ve got a lot of things that I’ve picked up or people have given me since I was a kid. Mostly German Shepherd stuff, but in the past ten years I’ve gotten some Cairn terrier things, too (since we got our first). I even have true-to-life sized statues of both types of dogs.

One time when my sister and her kids stayed at my house, they counted something like 26 hearts around my house, lol. I love hearts, and what they stand for. Keeping a soft heart is important to me, and I’m very grateful for the love I am surrounded by every day right here at home. ❤️

It is also nice to connect here with people who are grateful for things in life, as well. Thank you @PollyannaMom for helping us to remember our blessings every day! 💞

My nightly book reading time ❤️
My car drive although it’s not quiet as I’m signing along with the radio but it’s just me and my thoughts while I sit in traffic for an hour each way yelling at people 🤣🤣 looking crazy singing at top of my lungs not caring one bit !! Stress relief really - can’t do anything about traffic so May as well enjoy yourself
My early morning coffee and the DIS ❤️❤️ I do look forward to SLOs poll and this Grateful thread - I like chatting with my DIS Peeps - it brings me happiness and I’m grateful for you all !! ❤️❤️
