Three Things...Gratitude Thread

3 green things you're thankful for
1. Trees
2. Money
3. Green salad

3 things you're grateful for beginning with the letter T
(I love some of the others mentioned, and almost changed some of my answers, but I'll go with my original answers.)
1. Teddy bears (I got one from my secret Santa at work this week. :) )
2. Time
3. Teachers

3 sweet treats
1. Dove Dark Chocolate
2. Lindt Dark Chocolate truffles
3. Chocolate ice cream.
What? Me? a chocoholic? Where would you EVER get that idea?!? :D

3 holiday things you're grateful for
1. Christmas carols, including a lot of the contemporary ones. I love music, but I think you've probably guessed that by now from some of my other answers.
2. Christmas Eve and, since it's on a Sunday this year, Christmas morning services at church!
3. This is included in 1, but becuase I love promoting it, the Behold the Lamb of God album by Andrew Peterson. it's just an amazing collection of songs that tells the Christmas story from Genesis to Revelation, and has some of the most powerful lyrics I've ever heard.
Money, as something green, never came to mind.
How did I not think of this?!
Great answer!

3 holiday things I’m grateful for:
1) Our Christmas tree. It has an option for multi or clear lights, but we leave it on multi all the time and I love it.
2) Buying and giving presents. I love to figure out a gift that I know someone will like, but not expect to receive.
3) The additional charitable events that happen this time of year for those in need. Additional food drives, toy collections, free meals with Santa, local “shop with a cop” days, etc.

Hmm, Saturdays...

Well, this particular Saturday I'm grateful the weather is a bit milder and it was crisp and refreshing outside while putting up Christmas lights.

Saturday, more generally, feels the most free and that can make it a time to take a breather, take stock and realign with yourself, IYSWIM. Not so much in a meditative way, but maybe that, too.

As a kid, I loved Saturday morning television!

3 Things You're Grateful for About Saturdays

1 This particular Saturday, in addition, to most of all being thankful for another day of health and life with my dad also in health, I am also grateful extra to have gotten a Current Catalog order that included a free gift of note cards! Also, grateful that Sprouts had my favorite applesauce.

2 Filled with added joy to think about Christmas Eve next Saturday and online worship to come. ITA with Summer in so looking forward to one day God-willing feeling safe again to attend in person church. How blessed I am to be able to watch online until then.

3 Dad typically stays home on Saturdays or mostly home as was the case today/

The holiday calendar lists rather a lot of entertainers birthdays' today, so lets do famous people who have added something to our lives -

Today's Topic (Sun. 12/18) - 3 Celebrities or Historical Figures You're Grateful For

1. Any of you who know me fairly well from other threads, know that my first and only celebrity is Alex O'Loughlin
2. John F Kennedy--I have been fascinated with him since I was little. I can remember sitting in my grandmother's living room watching the funeral when I was still fairly young.3
3. George Washington, he was the Father of our country after all. We have a small headquarters he stayed at in our city and it's designated as a historical building.

Today's Topic (Sat. 12/17) - 3 Things You're Grateful for About Saturdays
Good Sunday mornings!
I’m gonna catch up on Saturday before today .

#1 - I’m grateful for 5:00pm Mass on Saturdays. The only time I go to Sunday Mass is if they need me to lector that morning.

#2 - I’m grateful that Saturdays give me time to catch up on chores around the house.

#3 - I’m grateful that Saturdays give me extra time to spend with my DH since he rarely works on the weekends.

Today's Topic (Sun. 12/18) - 3 Celebrities or Historical Figures You're Grateful For

#1 - I’m always going to put Jesus first with a topic like this. He is the way, the truth and the life.

#2 - I’m grateful for Gary Sinise (Lt. Dan from Forest Gump) and everything he does for our countries veterans. I follow the Gary Sinise Foundation on Facebook and what this wonderful man does for our veterans is incredible. If you have a Facebook page you should take a look.

#3 - I’m grateful to Jon Bon Jovi (I love Bon Jovi) for his community restaurant in New Jersey called JBJ Soul Kitchen. Opened in 2011 and menu items have no prices. Diners pay a cash donation that covers their meal and a meal for someone in need. It’s always nice to see celebrities giving back to the community.

3 Historical or Celebrities-

1. Billy Graham - epitomized the way a gentleman should live and act

2. Obama

3. Ryan Reynolds - just his expressions make me laugh

Some might think these are mutually exclusive, but they have their own way of making me grateful.

Historical figures/ Celebrities

It's hard to narrow down, I'm opting for 3 categories.

1) Emmeline Pankhurst and all the Suffragettes who fought successfully for the right to vote for British women.

2) John Williams (music) and Steven Spielberg (pictures)

3) Winston Churchill and Queen Elizabeth II, for their clarity, confidence and consistency.

So many, of course, Louis Pasteur, Mozart, Robin Williams, Doris Day, Hitchcock, Agatha Christie, Enid Blyton, Jane Austen, Glenn Miller, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Andy Murray, Florence Nightingale, Tears for Fears! etc. etc. etc.

Different kind of category today, I'll probably carry it with me through the day and think of many more!
