Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Anyone remember the candy little dots like frosting came on piece of paper and you peeled them off ? If memory serves me right and I’m going back more than 50 years I thought they had a little machine I called the machine but it was like a little kids machine that you could buy your child that would make this candy because it seems like when I was a little kid and I’m showing my age here that I have one of those little machines and you would have to mix up some powdered sugar and water And then you would get this special paper then you can make the little dots Candy and you put it through the candy machine thus ring a bell with anybody?? I can’t remember what they were called but flyingdumbo triggered my memory when she mentioned the pastel candies and I’m almost sure that this was something that was out when I was a kid I’m having a heck of time googling this……help ??

I'm behind. We had family weekend at OU for DD18 and I'm playing catch up everywhere.

Long Lasting

Dawn Platinum- DH has since started buying it in bulk at Costco, but when this stuff came out, I was amazed at how little I needed to get the job done...meaning one regular sized bottle would last me nearly 6 months.

DD15s Batting Gloves- We switched brands about a year and a half ago. These cost a bit more, but even with her using them on a daily basis, these last so much longer. They still smell horrible after a bit, but I can handle it if I'm not having to buy them every couple of months.

DD15s bats- There is a particular bat brand/model that's really popular with her friends/teammates. People rave about its pop, but it's ridiculously prone to cracking. DD has never loved this bat or brand. Now I'm not saying that her preferred brand/models can't break, but they are known to be much sturdier than the one so many love.

Spotted

Daisy- Our last dog had this crazy spotted skin. Even her belly and the inside of her mouth were spotted.

Bubble wrap- If you get a good sheet, it's so therapeutic to sit there and pop the dots.

80s dotted fashion- My mind quickly went to one of my old Swatch watches that had a dotted face (or maybe that was a Benetton one...all 80s vibe regardless) and a Gear bag that had a raised dot pattern than kind of looked like a dotted bath mat with a zipper. Great memories!

Squishy/Soft

Dog- I don't know why, but I love to call our current dog "squishy."

Good gummies- I like gummy candies but not all of them have a good consistency. Things like the popular Haribo bears are too hard, but some gummies are too soft. So, when I find a good one, it's pretty nice. It's all very Goldilocks!

Bleacher Seat/Cushion- Truth be told, I haven't found the perfect one. I have four different ones that I shift between based on mood, park and travel method. There's one I've been eyeing for several years now but I haven't been able to commit. Still, I'm grateful for any of these soft options that make my game day seating more comfy.

Good Monday Afternoon!

#1 - Otis's Fur - His coat is so incredibly soft, I've never felt a dog with such a soft coat. I just love petting him, after he's exhausted from all the zooming around he does.

#2 - PlayDoh - I loved playing with squishy PlayDoh as a kid and as an adult with my girls.

#3 - Baby's Skin - I loved how soft my girls skin was when they were babies. Seems like yesterday, but then again forever ago

Slo posting about PlayDoh reminded me of something that I can't believe I forgot...Fondant, gumpaste, marzipan, modeling chocolate, and really any of the soft edible sculpting products. It was especially helpful when the girls were younger. I could sit down to work on cake stuff and hand them their own balls of fondant to play with while I worked on the real stuff. Not that I wanted either of them hopped up on a ton of sugar, but my concerns were minimal if they decided to put the "edible clay" in their mouths.

Here are the pastel-colored chocolate balls Chocolate Dutch Mints and Misty Mints I don't remember the second candy having that many white sprinkles bit this is close to what I remember. Thanks everyone for sweet memories.

Soft blankets, clothes, and puppies for sure!

Dad has a soft back rest pillow that is solid and squishy.
My favorite pancakes are soft :D
I also enjoyed playing with Play Doh as a kid
Soft and friendly looking stuffed animals

Soft and squishy

The Gund fabric bear that I bought my DGD when she was a baby and has become her comfort as she goes through all the changes in her little life. He is so soft.

My many fleece blankets!

Soft towels. One of my few splurges (besides going to WDW of course!) is buying high quality towels.
