Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Oh I’m a faithful mason jar user so grateful for them - so handy for so many things !!
My coffee maker!! ❤️❤️
My refrigerator- I don’t care for it but would hate not having one so I’m grateful I have one !!
I’ll limit myself but I love my kitchen I have so many old things that are very dear to me that I cherish and I’m very grateful I have!

I LOVE MY NEW REFRIGERATOR!! I've already told DH, if we move, the fridge goes with us!

New stove, too. Ours was a 25+ year old JennAir, and it was a mess. It was so old that the cross supports that hold the burners in place were rusted through so the burners sat crookedly. Fan didn't work, broiler didn't work, replacement parts aren't available. We've had the new stove for about 2 weeks and, except for how difficult it is to keep the glass top in shape, I am pretty happy with it.

Coffee makers. We have 2. One is full-sized machine that will auto-grind the beans and then make the pot, so I can set it all up at night and it'll come on at 6am, grind the beans, and make the coffee, so there is a fresh pot by the time I stagger down at 6:15. I am NOT in love with the new Keurig. It's lighter weight and much flimsier than the machine it is replacing, but that's how they are making them now. The older one is wonky and not brewing a consistent volume anymore, so it needed to be replaced (yes, it's descaled and all). I don't love the new one, but (a) it's beige which is a nice change from black, and (b) I got the old one at a yard sale and only paid $3. If I average the price of that with the price of the new model, I can delude myself into thinking I paid less for the new one than I did, so I don't feel as badly about how cheaply it's made!

:grouphug:WDWEPCOT and prayers indeed for your friend and always for you!

I would sure appreciate extra prayers from all of you for healing of my hurting feet. It is so hard day in and out to be in pain :( Dad and I are so praying that by the Mercy and Grace of God, I am healed by Christmas. Please take care of your feet dear friends and do not ever let this happen to you!

Three things I'm grateful for right now: my supportive friends, a cozy blanket on a chilly day, and a good cup of coffee to kickstart my mornings.
Glad to have you aboard. Since you are new I am assuming you are referring to your supportive friends outside of the boards. You will soon find a lot good and supportive fellow DISers. I can attest to that!

In the Kitchen:
  • My dishwasher - my hands have been a little chapped lately from washing them so much when we were all sick. They'd be worse if I had to do all the dishes by hand!
  • My kitchen table - it's a farmhouse style with a bench on one side, and I've always loved it.
  • My favorite blue glass bowls 🔹

ONLY THREE??? 🤣🤣

Candy - just about any - Fudge / bonbons / all those homemade treats that come out this time of year !!

Pies 🥧- Cakes - Breads - all those special holiday pies / cakes you make once a year !!! Cinnamon Rolls ❤️

Candy Again - all the great special candy you can buy in the stores - all the special fancy candy is brought out for Christmas and the chocolate covered cherries 🍒❤️ which I could eat me weight in 🤣🤣🤣

PEPPERMINT STICK ICE CREAM! It's my favorite flavor, and I can only get it around Christmas. I like the pink ice cream with the pink and green candies in it.

Swiss Colony petit fours. They aren't the greatest, but I started ordering them decades ago when DD was a little girl. The 12 pack (or was it 24?) was only about $5 so they made great teacher and neighbor gifts. Turns out, DD30 now associates them with Christmas goodies, so guess what will be under the tree for her this year?

Prime rib. I am 100% a carnivore, thru and thru, and love some medium rare roast beef, with the bone. We never have it during the year as the rest of the residents here prefer to NOT eat beef, but they humor me at Christmas. I am on the hunt for the perfect cut of prime rib, with bones (my favorite part) and will happily indulge on Christmas day!

I’m very sorry to hear this.
I absolutely will keep you in my prayers, and ask God to lay his healing hands on you to help you heal and feel better

TGIF!

This Christmas will be different here with DH being type2 diabetic now - all the favorite treats will either not be made or very little will be made to give away. That’s alright - if he can’t have it, then I really shouldn’t have it either.

#1 - I’m grateful for my peanut butter balls - they are always on high demand at Christmas time and everyone tells me mine are the best. That sounds really conceited, but they say it not me - the secret is me adding maple syrup to the mix.

#2 - I’m grateful for a special cookie my in-laws bring on Christmas Day - they buy them at a local bakery and they taste just like a cookie my grandma used to make. They are wonderful to eat and to reminisce about my grandma‘s cookies. My in-laws new my grandma, and had her cookies, so they can participate in the conversation - great memories.

#3 - I’m grateful for a jello desert my mom makes - she’s been making this since I was a child. It a must have item for Christmas Day.
