Three Things...Gratitude Thread

3. Darts. Walking back and forth (and bending down to pick up the darts that miss the board) is more exercise than I imagined.
Reminds me of when I was middle DDs room mother. We used water bottles for bowling pins and the kids "bowled" to knock them over. I hate to think how many times I stood up a set of 10 pins - the next day the back of my legs were so sore! Didn't think about it at the time, but glad I didn't have to do it two days in a row:rotfl:

Good Morning Friends:flower3:

Dad plays the 🎹 admit to not caring for classical (worship my preference on a piano) music. Grateful it brings him joy, plus he is very knowledgeable of it! David, church organist/pianist is extremely talented at both.

Kickball memories of elementary school and as a school age director. Fun game. i was never very good at it but did enjoy :)

Active Things:

God's Grace to dad and I of continuing health and ability to walk through life together physically, spiritually, and in right active mind!

Children and puppies.

My faith, I pray is forever active at the core of my being :)

Active Things:

1. Volleyball: all 3 of my girls played and my youngest still does. It’s a huge part of our lives and I enjoy the sport, the people and that it keeps DD busy.
2. Dog walks: I take the dog on a 15-20 minute walk almost every night. We do a couple of hills which I know are good for both of us.
3. Fishing: DH bought himself a fishing boat and we’ve gone a few times. It’s a nice activity for us to share.

Active things...
At this point in my life I am not very active, as I am awaiting a badly-needed knee replacement. However, for several years I have enjoyed going to the gym in the morning to ride the exercise bike for an hour. I sit there, pedal, and read. I look at it as an hour to read, guilt-free!

Ballet. I danced in my youth and teen years and loved it. However, the true dancer in the family is DD. She danced in her youth, all the way through college and beyond. She was a principle dancer with a local ballet company and also has worked as a choreographer and teacher. I love watching her dance, although it's starting to get to her feet, knees, and ankles. I love watching ballets, especially when DD is performing in them!

Gymnastics and ice skating- I could watch forever. I did a bit of gymnastics in high school, but gymnastics in the early 70s wasn't what it is today. It was considered "impressive" that I could do a cartwheel on the balance beam! I haven't done any ice skating since the winter I was 11. I fell while skating during the winter when I was 10 and broke my right arm. The next winter, I fell and broke my left arm. I decided there was a message in this and stopped ice skating!

Oh my goodness, that is a memorable pain! I feel you!! Just last week I was assigned to the bowling station at DS’s school fun day. Never again! I considered myself to be in good shape. Note past tense. Y’all, I could barely walk for days afterwards... No exercise class had ever made the back of my legs hurt like that! We had fun though!!

Welcome from me, too, Uncle Coaster and again to Momma Ketch, too:flower3:
Thank you!! :goodvibes

Quickie answer before I get ready for work……

Always grateful for our American flag which flys high every day at our house - flag pole in the front yard and also a flag holder on the pool deck.

#1 - Red - My favorite color - my comfy red robe

#2 - Red & White - my Mickey Bathroom

#3 - Blue & White - the sky on a sunny day with big fluffy clouds

Red- strawberries, especially the locally-grown, fresh strawberries that are just coming into season. Can't wait to make a strawberry pie!
White- This is going to sound stupid, but I have a white gauze shirt that I love. It's longer, with long sleeves, and I use it as a cover-up in the summer. It hangs by the door and I grab it on the way out to the grocery store or any place where I suspect the a/c is going to be a tad chilly. It's been on many Disney and NOLA trips!
Blue- The ocean. The beach is my place, and I love the ocean.

>>I like that you remembered June 14th is Flag Day. It was so important when I was in grade school (back in the 60s) but it seems to have fallen by the wayside these days. Same with Patriot's Day (April 19th) and Veteran's Day (Nov. 11th). June 14th is a Big Family Day for us, too; My great aunt and a sister-in-law celebrate a birthday, and it's my brother's/SIL's anniversary.

Blue is my favorite color! I have way too much of it on my house (it's also the color of my house)!

Red is the color that I think I look the best in, so I have a decent amount of red sweaters and tops

Red, White and Blue - the wreath that hangs on our door in the middle of the summer!

Pink is my favorite color. Dad's is red and I do like bright :santa:red. Love all the shares already posted.

Absolutely 🇺🇸and always my deepest and sincere thanks to all who have and are serving our country along with their families. Memories foremost of my beloved grandma and also friend Shirley both of whom were very Patriotic. Sue, my friend who I've shared about before, has a big American flag out front of her house.

All kids it seems who God has trusted and blessed me with learning from and teaching have always preferred blue Otter Pops to any other popsicle color.

Our 🛋️and dad's :car:are both red.
