Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Today's Topic (Sat 3/11) - 3 Tools You're Grateful For

(Don't feel you have to limit this to traditional "toolbox" tools - Favorite writing tools, communication tools, tools specific to your job...everything counts!)
1. little handheld mini cheese grater, It's about the size of a credit card, flat with a handle; stainless steel, and is the best thing to grate Parm with. I use it to zest citrus too, and it shreds the zest down so finely; I just wipe the zest and 'juice' from the zest off the back, right into whatever it's needed for; no big bits of zest to deal with.

2. gel pens. I love to write and color with them.

3. I have multiple pairs of kitchen shears in the kitchen; one in the knife block; one stuck in a magnetic sheath on the fridge, on the side; a pair in the drawer with the silverware. I love being able to grab one quickly, and if it gets dirty while I'm cooking, I can easily get another pair. If I'm in the middle of making, let's say, a Hello Fresh meal, and I need to open the sour cream and mayo to make the sauce, but I used the scissors to open the package of ground chicken, I don't have to worry about stopping and washing the scissors, I can just get another pair! Or if I need to open a package in the fridge, I don't have to go across the kitchen to get a pair, they are right there!

You can get Crazy glue for your glue gun ???? WHAT ????? No more getting glue all over EVERYTHING no matter how careful I am ??! Sign me up!! I got a ton of things I need to glue !!
See how helpful this is !!! I’m so excited

I recently purchased crazy glue and it was hard to get - sold out everywhere and not once did I see it for glue gun that’s why I was so shocked I was like that would be great idea thou !!!

1. My laptop - I love it and use it all the time!
2. I'm going to second kitchen shears - I use mine for everything too. I think after reading your post, I'm going to get a couple more pairs. I only have one right now!
3. Pampered chef lettuce scissors - there's probably a better name for them, but I cut my whole head of lettuce and store in gallon ziplock bags which makes it so much easier to make salads!

(Thur 3/9) - unexpected graces/blessings
1. I know I mentioned this earlier this week, but it fits so well for this topic... My current job. I had a job with my department that just wasn't the job for me and didn't work out. A month later, I get a call from the sister agency under the same department, asking me if I'd like to interview for an open position. Well... I mean, if you're just going to drop it in my lap like that.... yes! Didn't even know Vocational Rehabilitation existed, and I now love my job and my coworkers.
2. All of my "Color Run Kids." I know I recently3 shared a link to my story here, and connecting with all these families who had kids going through DDH has just meant so much to me. I can't help but to call them "my kids" and since I don't have any kids of my own and don't see that in my future, and my niece lives so far away, I kind of feel like God said, "Okay. Look. You aren't going to have kids of your own, but I'm going to put some kids in your life, even if it's only online, where you're going to have a special connection that not many others have, and I'm going to use you through them." (Okay. I wasn't expecting to get THAT sentimental here, but it's true!)
3. I'm going to have to agree with all the others that have said this forum, and specifically this thread. I love connecting with all of you and reading your answers, and seeing reactions to my answers, and... yeah.

(Fri. 3/10) - lunch foods you're grateful for
1. Fruit salad. We have fruit salad every night for dinner, and I always take some leftovers in my lunch
2. Baby carrots, mini peppers and cherry tomatoes
3. Microwave meals, just because they're simple and easy.

(Sat 3/11) - 3 Tools You're Grateful For
1. Assistive technology! Whether it be screen readers, apps, or alternative communication, there are so many tools for people with disabilities, and given my job, I just love how for it's come! Granted, we've got a long way to go too, but at least companies are trying.
2. Organization tools. I just bought some more shelves and storage bins today to (hopefully) help me stay a bit more organized.
3. I'm being optomistic on this one, but one of my fun things that came in the mail is a crochet kit for a cute little penguin. It's supposed to be for complete beginners, so I'm going to say I'm thankful for crochet hooks. :)

:grouphug:Allison and thank you for such a wonderful share. ITA about God and that He indeed connected you as He has me, also single, through the years with the blessing of being able to teach and learn from, work with children in various ways. You are a blessing to all. I wish you all the best job and otherwise.

:hug:Extra to you as well, WDWEPCOT, I know who to call for glue help :d I had never heard of glue tape until a few years ago. It is handy as a sealer and crafting. I think Dollar Tree may even sell it. Puzzle glue can be handy, too for permanately saving a puzzle. Lol, now I have glue on my mind! Prayers that you and everyone in our fun and kind are having a good Saturday.

Funny thing about glue - I buy all kinds of it and can never find a drop of it when I need some ! 🤣🤣🤣 I’m going to start hiding it with my tape and gel pens !!!

In reverse order:

3) I'm nowhere near the former USSR. All that fighting. If you're not in one country being bombarded by missiles, you're in another being conscripted and told to fight hand to hand with shovels because they have no more ammo!
2) My stuffed rabbit. Kept me safe during my childhood.
1) G-d. I know it sounds silly, but whenever I'm in Church, I experience this great wave of calm and love, like someone or something is out there, watching over me.
