Three quick questions

In a week we leave on our Southwest trip. We have only one day allotted to DL and DCA. We will stay near the parks the night before so we can get in line early and we plan to stay all day. (The next day we drive to Las Vegas to take in the strip so we can sleep in a little.)

1) We will be exchanging WDW tickets. I have read the procedures on this site and understand it will take a few minutes. There are four of us. Can one person go ahead and exchange all of the tickets?

2) I have read the fastpass threads and found them helpful. I know Roger Rabbit is disconnected but I vaguely remember reading BTMRR is/was disconnected. I know things change and some posts are older and may not reflect current conditions. Is BTMRR disconnected?

3) Since we plan (will see if it happens) to close out the park that night, I'm wondering how late some of the counter service locations stay open. I know to try to avoid heavy times e.g. 11:30-1:00 and 6:00-7:00 but what about late night munchies?

Thank you all for the very helpful insights. I have a number of threads from this site printed and put in our trip binder for reference. My wife has Disney Mobile Magic on her phone. I have Mousewait and Lines on my Nook. We're using these to help us plan rough times for certain rides.

1) I would have the CM exchange all 4 at once. I think they have to take them to the side to look up and remove the days, so it'll be easier to do all at once.

3) I had a hard time finding food after 10pm. There may be a few snack carts still open, but I don't think the CS locations are open past 10 or so.

2) Big Thunder was disconnected for a short time in the fall, but it was definitely reconnected. It was connected when we were there last month, and all other recent reports that I have seen corroborate this. Roger Rabbit is still reportedly disconnected; we didn't bother getting passes since the wait to ride was about 3 minutes when we were over there.

3) Our family doesn't buy a lot of food late at night, but we have noticed that Bengal Barbecue has been closed as early as 9 PM on a night with midnight closing, and we found several snack carts (churros, pretzels...) had run out of food by the end of the fireworks show (about 10 PM as 3Minnies1Mickey noted).

I am trying to determine whether my wife or I can take all four tickests and exchange them and have the other with the two kids join up 10-15 minutes later. It would probably be me since my wife takes longer to get ready in the morning (with much better results).

No you can't because its done at the turnstyle before you enter the gate.

This was the first visit for my kids and they really loved that attraction. We rode it 5 times during our visit and only used a Fast Pass for the first ride. After that we just waited in the line. BTMRR is connected to the network, but we never had to use a Fast Pass for this attraction. It never had more than a 20 minute wait during our visit at the beginning of June.


3) Counter Service locations usually close around 2 hours prior. I know that the food carts are usually open later. We were able to get corn dogs from the wagon on Main Street 15 minutes prior to close. I don't know about the other food carts, but we were able to get some soup from Harbor Galley around 11:00pm on our second night.

To exchange 4 tickets you will need 4 people. They will only exchange 1 per person who is there so it would be best for you all to be there.

We always get a FP for RR, it usually has waits of up to 45 minutes so we pass it and go back later. Same for BTMRR, we always get a FP, even if it's a 20 minute wait, we grab a FP and ride it then go back later at night when the lines are longer because we like to ride it at night.

Strange that you have had to wait that long for this ride. As I said, we rode it 5 times over a 2 day period and most trips were walk on. I was seriously wondering why they even had a Fast Pass machine for this ride. I guess we just got lucky....

You definitely got lucky, in all my trips we've walked onto RR 2 or 3 times.....

We've only been on Roger Rabbit once because the line is always so long. That 1 time, we were able to walk right on. When I was there in June, Jolly Holiday was open till close. We had a big lunch, and then suddenly everybody was starved at 11! They had lots of treats and sandwiches.

I find the line for Roger Rabbit to be one of the most inconsistent lines in the resort. With Space and Indy you pretty much expect a 60+ min line during the middle of the day during a crowded time. On the other hand, during the summer 20-30+ waits for Pinocchio or IASW are pretty much unheard of.

But RR can have lines as short as 20-30 min...and I've seen it get up to over 70. I always grab a FP just in case it does get long.

It was when we were last there on June 12. My boys were loving that. I know I've seen at least one post-Carsland-opening report that Screamin' was still disconnected. My boys took advantage of this a bit last trip and are hoping it will be that way again next time.

I'm still fiddling with our plans. One day doesn't provide much room for error.

At this point I am leaning toward starting at DCA - no early entry for us. I will get in line for RSR fastpasses and the wife kids will do a couple of things - I am recommending Luigi's based on what I see for current waits - while I am there. Maybe Toy Story Mania before heading for DL. We will circle back to DCA a couple of hours later.

pixiewings71, thanks. I was afraid of that given the process. We will just have to get up earlier. I am guessing we will watch the fireworks the night before from outside of DL and get to bed early so we can be at the ticket booths by 7:20.

I'm going to piggyback on this thread, because I was going to post a similar question.

We are also exchanging WDW tickets, but I am wondering how that will work with trying to get in line for RSR FPs.

We do not have any type of EE, can they exchange our tickets early if we get there early and then we will be able to get in the park right when they let the general population enter?

I am pretty sure the ticket booths open 30 minutes before the main gates, so I would definitely give that a try. In DL, booths are set apart from the parks in the middle of an esplanade, so there is less congestion. It's possible you may also be able to exchange them at one of the on-site hotels, but I would call and ask about that one.

Also, Hootch, we had great luck with the single rider line for RSR first thing in the morning. The posted time was 10 minutes but it was actually shorter.

Another option would be to send one person to wait in the RSR fastpass line while the rest of you go to Soarin and Tower of Terror - those usually are walk-ons first thing (especially since the opening of Cars Land). And don't miss Screamin' and Aladdin - there isn't anything similar to these in WDW.

I'm not sure our eight year old daughter will want to do single rider for a ride she hasn't been on before. She's a bit of a drama queen.
