Three or four day tickets for Christmas?

We are planning our first Universal trip for Christmas this year. Yes, I know it will be very busy. I'm a teacher, so we have to plan vacations during my school breaks. Question is, should I get three or four day tickets? We've done Disney many times, but I am unsure of how to plan for Universal. We will be in Orlando for the week and plan on a couple hotel/down/shopping etc. days. We have four children that all love Harry Potter, but my two youngest aren't tall enough for several rides.
TIA!

Which days specifically, and will you have the Express Pass or not?

If you have the Express Pass, you should be fine with 3 days (really even 2 days).

We are in Orlando for 3 weeks over Xmas & NY and was also torn over the number of days needed (especially when most of the ticket options had to be used within 7 days so not much option for spreading out our visits)

We ended up going from the one night at RPR option to hopefully have 2 packed days at the parks bookended with rest days rather than 3 or 4 half days

OP here - wanted to add that we won't have Express Passes. We are a family of six and getting two rooms at a Deluxe is out of the budget.

I still think 3 should be ok but it'll depend on when you go. If you choose the most crowded days of the year, you'll likely have to skip a few rides unless you want to just wait in line all day.

I think it depends on how "into" parks you are. My youngest has been to Universal several times before being tall enough to ride a lot of the rides, and he loves it (kiddie rides, dino explore/play area, shows, etc.)
My oldest has never enjoyed major thrill rides, and he loves every minute we are there as well.

I say this, because we go almost every year. 6-8 days, and that's still not enough time for us...but we LOVE theme parks.

My brother and his family go once every 4 years or so, 1-2 days, and that's enough for them...they are "lay on the beach people"

I think knowing what your family enjoys doing (as long as it fits your budget) will give you the best answer of how many days to go.
