Hey Everyone,

We're going at Christmas (although it's a surprise for new husband!) and we have three nights there (I am booking this week). Which three restaurants would you eat at, and why? I'd really appreciate the input. We holidayed here in 2002 and ate at Planet Hollywood, Cafe Mickey and Rainforest Cafe.

What sort of budget do you have? The restaurants range hugely in price and (in my opinion), you really do get what you pay for (although there are a couple of gems at the cheaper end of the scale).

It depends a lot of whether you want character interaction and on your budget.

I love Inventions (character buffet but amazing food) and so would chose that and would also like to eat at California Grill (never been yet) so would probably chose that as well but those 2 are the most expensive restaurants.
We also like Walts and Annettes

Oh you definitely have to go to Inventions then in DLH - have a look at some of the recent reviews in the FAQ

As £ doesn't matter, then I would personally do:

Inventions (fantastic buffet with characters)
California Grill (fantastic table service meal)
King Ludwigs / Cafe Mickey / Blue Lagoon (Ludwigs and Cafe Mickey are great, while Blue Lagoon looks really good, although I've never eaten there myself)

We've had 3 good meals in Blue Lagoon but other people have been disappointed

We are going for Xmas for 3 nights and plan to do Cafe Mickey, Lucky Nugget and Plaza Gardens

We are going for four nights in May to celebrate my 30th birthday and will probably be eating at Inventions on the night of my birthday, Annette's (because DH loves their burgers), Cafe Mickey's and Rainforest Cafe.

Havent been to any of them before apart from annettes so we are very excited!

Not Walts, anyone? Does anywhere do character breakfasts or lunches?

Cafe Mickey makes a good character lunch in my opinion as it's quieter than at dinner and you can pick from the same menu as you get at dinner time.

Im sure I mentioned Walts as a possibility.

Lucky Nugget and Cafe Mickey do character lunches (LN is a buffet and CM table service)

Cafe Mickey also does breakfasts

Only 3?!?! Oh Gosh, this is hard (Anyone on here will tell you I'm very into my restaurants!!)..... I think I'd personally go for:

-The California Grill in the Disneyland Hotel- V.expensive, but very worth it!
-Cafe Mickey- I love the character interaction here, and the food is lovely!!

Argh!! I don't know! Now my third choice is a tie between The Chicago Steakhouse, The Blue Lagoon, or The Rainforest Cafe. Or Annettes..... ARGH!!

Sorry, I'm hopeless! It's too hard to choose!

I'd definitely choose Blue Lagoon first. The first time we ate there, on our honeymoon :) the food was amazing but the second time it was disappointing. However, it's far more about the scenery that the food, for me. Frankly I'd be happy to sit there and just eat a stick of celery :)

I'm afraid to say I'd struggle to sit anywhere happily with a stick of Celery!!

I haven't tried Inventions or Walts (I want to, but we just haven't been able to so far!) and a lot of people seem to regard them highly....

Where do you think you fancy Raspberry Bubbles?

I loooove walts! But will be doing it as a lunch as when I go the park shuts at 7.

My plans for my upcoming 3 night trip are walts (lunch), california grill, inventions.

Then maybe cafe mickey lunch on last day.....

But I also want to see buffalo bills too....maybe i need a longer stay?

That is what we are doing too! We are doing Lucky Nugget as well on our last day for some more character interaction.

I would eat at Blue Lagoon, but we were really disappointed with it when we ate there again in April. Maybe we will give it another try on a future trip as I agree the setting is amazing (even better than the Blue Bayou in Disneyland which it is based on IMHO.)
