OK - I know MANY of you are in MUCH colder places. And a lot of you got hit with some pretty bad winter storms - but this is important because it affects ME :lmao:

We just had our third night in a row where the temps fell below freezing for several hours. I have lived here long enough to see frost and even snow flurries/flakes but I can't ever remember it getting this cold, ever.

This is Florida and it's supposed to be warm!!

OK - now you can share your weather related stories. Just keep in mind that it won't make me feel any better because it doesn't affect me :rotfl:

That's what we love about you John, your empathy. :grouphug:

A coworker just got back from a last minute trip to WDW, and was complaining it was just as cold there as it is here. I said yea, but you were in WDW and I was at work.

Just be glad you didn't have to make an emergency trip to Philadelphia, wherein you were scheduled to fly home on what turned out to be the day after a blizzard. I eventually made it home, but it was NOT FUN! (Think planes, trains & automobiles, or something to that effect!)

That said, sub-freezing temps in Florida does suck!

Sayhello

The good news John (and this does affect you :) ) is the temps are on the rise in Orlando...Even here in Indy. High temps in the 50s this Friday. CAN YOU SAY "MELT!"

Yes, but we were outside at WDW while you were probably nice & warm, at work. Plus, when you did go outside, you probably had a winter coat, hat, scarf, mittens, boots & thermal underwear. I gave all that stuff away when I moved to Florida.:sad1::confused3:lmao:

I still get a kick out of hearing the "local" temps announced during breakfast on Castaway Cay day.

"....Chicago's high temp is 7...." :rotfl2: And that's not taking the wind chill into consideration. I'm guessing it felt like -15 below zero. At least we're expecting 40-50 degrees over the new year weekend.

But yes, I know it's unseasonably cold in Florida!

I noticed during my walk to the Swan/Dolphin for the cruise bus that the shrubs in the causeway had "shower caps" on due to the frost. Some of my friends who were down at WDW for the annual December meet told me how cold it was Monday night. They were dancing at the Osborne Lights just to stay warm! I think it was in the 20s! Brrrr.

I can send you guys some Snuggies. :-)

Seriously, the snow in New York City has turned to slush. Which means, of course, bottomless puddles of ice cold mud on every corner.

I actually had to put a blanket on my bed ... it got down in the 40's!

Just have to say please get warmer before Jan 8. I do not want to run again in Central Florida in the snow or be handed cups of frozen powerade during the marathon. It's Florida it is supposed to be warm!

What? I can't hear you because there are ice crystals forming in my ears!

A friend of my husbands lives in Florida and was going to email us a picture of the frozen fountain in his front yard. Yikes!

I sympathize..... it is kinda like when earlier this month when we in the subarctic were at -20c and it suddenly went to -40c and stayed that way for a little too long. The differance is I have made never getting cold in these temperatures a science (or invested in the best boots, coats and blankets).
Cold is relative....just now you have a really good reason to hibernate. If it doesn't get warm I can attest to the stuff at the North Face outlet....I spend a little to much there on my trips.
