Three night stay.....AK or WL?

Hi, I'm planning a a three night stay and can't decide which would be best......Animal Kingdom Lodge or Wilderness Lodge? DS is 8, no car rental, one day park visit, which would you suggest and why?

both are beautiful reasorts,but if you are only doing the parks for 1 day,and are spending the rest at the resort i would say the AKL.with the animals that is a park all on its own.

We have stayed at each of those resorts twice and love them both! My 8-year -old daughter loved the following activities:

AKL - Swimming, watching the animals, pool activities and walking around the resort looking at the African art pieces.

WL - Hunting for hidden Mickeys (there are tons of them there - get the list from www.hiddenmickeys.org or a shorter list from the front desk. If she finds them all, turn it in for a prize.), swimming, taking the boat to Fort Wilderness and walking around the petting zoo, taking the boat to Chef Mickeys!

Personally, I would go with the WL because you can take the boat to Fort Wilderness to eat at the buffet or to the Contemporary to eat at Chef Mickeys. You can also catch the monorail at the Contemporary and go to the Polynesian to eat at O'hana's or to the Grand Floridian to go to the Pirate Cruise or the Alice in Wonderland Tea Party. We love Boma at the AKL, but it is not an every night kind of place and there isn't much else near by.

I'm sure you will enjoy either!

I would definitely stay at WL. There is more to do on property, the pool has better theming and you would be closer to other restaurants and activities.

ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE!!!!! It's our new favorite resort and I don't think we will stay anywhere else. Definitely a relaxing resort.

OOOOHHHHHH, I can't decide!!! They both sound and look like two wonderful resort's. Hubby prefers WL and I prefer AKL, maybe we should let our 8 year old decide
Which pool would a 8 year old enjoy most? Is AKL more themed for adults? What about the restuarants, are the restaurants at AKL as fun as the WL? OOOOOHHHH so many questions sooooooo little time!

I'd greatly appreciate anymore information!

AKL is awesome but I would do WL for the quick trip. It's great, close to MK-kids love it. Adults do too.

Can't really say which is better. They are both great.

I would go to WL given your circumstances - easy boat to MK or CR where you can have some good character meals - also easy to get to FW - jogging, biking paths, lots of activities and the beach on Bay Lake.

AKL is very nice but with your circumstances, WL is the way to go
