Tikiman just posted on Facebook that the Polynesian is handing out 3 hour parking passes today for ADRs. I thought some might be interested in this.

Just to add for those who have a seating but still wanted to go to Magic Kingdom for the celebrations - just park in the Magic Kingdom lot and walk over to the Polynesian. It's a very simple walk from the TTC, your car is safe and secure and you get to enjoy the entire night with no worries. If you are not a resort guest or AP holder, you will have to pay to park but $20 is much better than getting your car out of some lot after it's been towed.

Interesting considering they no longer give parking passes for resort guests. They tell you that your magic band is your parking pass and nothing goes in your car now so how would they control those who got a 3 hour pass and didn't display it in the car?

Maybe they're telling resort guests to also post them in their cars on NYE.

Typically on New Years Eve the resort is at a hard close and they will require a dining or room reservation at the front gate. So, basically, if you have an ADR, you get a pass. If you are staying at the Poly, you can scan with MB. If you have neither, you will be turned away.

So the assumption is that if you have no pass, you're a guest.

I got one in late October at BWV.

Had one at YC in October, BWI in July, Poly in March. They said quite a while back that they were discontinuing the parking passes but I have always received them. Will probably get on on Monday at WL as well.

Perhaps they are retaining them at resorts that have parking issues due to park proximity, such as Epcot resorts and monorail resorts. I didn't get one at Pop last month, and they said they don't do them anymore. But I did get one at YC in September. I didn't get one at POFQ in March either.

I doubt people do a lot of wildcat parking at Pop.

That's interesting, because we didn't get one at YC in August, but you got one in September.

Yes, that's a very good point. Bet it was to do with food and wine :-)
